Chris Jericho’s return to WWE is one of the most awaited comebacks of recent timesAll the Jerichoholics out there got some electricity coursing through their body when the news broke out about Chris Jericho’s new deal with the WWE. Unlike his previous spells, the latest one would just be for around two months but then again, it is still an exciting prospect.Jericho has a wealth of experience in his pocket and would not have much trouble putting one over anyone he faces. He might not win the Royal Rumble and go on to headline WrestleMania during but the potential contribution from his side to seriously affect matters cannot be ignored. There are a lot of possible scenarios in which WWE could involve Jericho and here is a look at some of the best ones from the lot.
#5 Roman Reigns
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
You know what’s better than Chris Jericho? A heel Chris Jericho. If we take a look at the career graph of Jericho, he shines bright when he is a heel. Some of his best promos came during his heel run and letting him do what he does best would be great for business.
On the other hand there is Roman Reigns, who is in desperate need of someone to put him over. Jericho meets this requirement with flying colors and he could even give Reigns some tips about pulling off a promo.
Having an opponent who is much superior to him in terms of microphone skills will hide the flaws of Reigns big time and Jericho playing heel would be a fresh approach as well.
#4 The Miz
As things stand now, there wouldn’t be a better superstar to face Miz than Chris Jericho. The Hollywood gimmick of Miz is slowing down at the moment and a real star is needed to get Miz back into relevance.
Jericho and Miz had some matches in the past but a two-month feud would do wonders for both superstars. Also, Jericho could act as a catalyst to break down the Miz-Mizdow relationship.
WWE is obviously building up a match between the two for WrestleMania and Jericho’s two month slot falls in it perfectly. He wouldn’t affect any other storyline as well if booked against Miz, a win-win situation for everyone involved.
#3 Bad News Barrett
Barrett returned to action after the injury lay-off and captured the Intercontinental Championship within no time. Just days after this impressive win, Barrett lost out to Sin Cara. It was a really bad booking decision from the company and Barrett needs to bring back his credibility.
Apart from being a great brawler, Barrett excels in the microphone and could be a great opponent for Jericho on any day. The Brit has a great career ahead of him but losing cleanly against Sin Cara did a lot of damage.
Having the Intercontinental title on the line would raise the bar further in the storyline and it would run all the way to WrestleMania.
#2 Rusev
WWE did tease a feud between Rusev and Jericho a few months back, but it didn’t materialize into a full blown storyline for some reason. Rusev was running rampage on many former champions like Jack Swagger, Big Show and Mark Henry, but Jericho will be an entirely different matter.
He is more accomplished that most the superstars Rusev fought with and at the same time, knows how to put one over an inexperienced young gun.
Two months would be more than enough for the human highlight reel to make Rusev look good and this will also solve the problem of finding a high profile opponent for the Bulgarian Brute at WrestleMania.
#1 Stephanie McMahon
This is a feud that will never get old. Jericho and Stephanie might not get into the ring and produce a five star match, but they sure know how to keep the fans entertained. Of course, there will be restrictions in the PG television but an experienced name like Jericho would know what to do.
He is a great short term foe for Stephanie while Hunter looks all set to be involved in a feud with Sting on the road to WrestleMania. Bring in someone from NXT to aid Stephanie with the in-ring action and this promises to be a successful outing.
WWE Universe is not going to get the Attitude Era aura in the promos but it will still be something worth watching amidst all the garbage that WWE serves these days.
