After the things CM Punk said in Colt Cabana’s podcast, a majority of the wrestling fans underlined that they will never see Punk in WWE again. If it was any other business, I would’ve belonged to that majority but since we are talking about wrestling here, it’s a whole different scenario.Punk actually spoke out sincerely about how he felt in the company and had all the right to say everything he spat out. But it’s still early to say that we won’t see him wrestle in the WWE again. There is always this unpredictability factor in professional wrestling which is one of the reasons why we love it so much. So here is a look at some of the reasons why CM Punk will return to WWE in the future.
#5 The history says so
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Bret Hart got screwed over by Vince McMahon at Montreal. Bret spat on McMahon’s face on live pay-per-view and apparently slapped the boss behind closed doors as well.
A decade and three years later, this same Bret showed up in WWE television shocking everyone. Steve Austin walked out of WWE due to creative differences but came back just years later as a mainstay in the programming.
And above all, Vince McMahon hired Eric Bischoff, someone who was hell bound in putting WWE out of business. There are numerous other examples of such patching ups in the wrestling history. if such horrible stories could be patched up, CM Punk will have no trouble finding a place in the company in the future.
#4 Colt Cabana\'s podcast was 2k15 sponsored
There is so much irony in this that it’s actually funny. CM Punk dropped his biggest pipe bomb yet when he talked his heart out at the Art of Wrestling podcast. A majority of the fans were so blown away with the news that came out, they didn’t even notice who the sponsors were.
Cabana’s podcast which broke the internet was apparently sponsored by WWE 2k15 which adds a layer of speculation to the whole scenario.
This entire saga could still end up being a big kayfabe angle pulled off by WWE as part of making it big in the mainstream media. If that’s the case, WWE universe is sure to see the biggest return in the WWE’s rich history which is already filled with some out of the earth moments.
#3 His relationship with AJ Lee
The rumors of AJ Lee leaving WWE after Survivor Series turned out to be just another internet speculation that didn’t materialize. She is here to stay for the time being and this means that she will be on road for nearly 300 days a year.
Having a happily married life in between wouldn’t be a walk in the park. We’ve seen many relationships getting blown up in the wrestling business and Punk has been a ladies man in the past. He has dated the lights of Maria, Lita, Beth Phoenix and many more but he tied the knot with AJ Lee which tells how deep the relation is.
So if Punk actually cares that much about AJ, he would find it hard to stay away from AJ for that long. Instead, he could just come back to WWE and spend a whole lot of quality time with his wife, which is another integral factor.
#2 WWE not taking any legal action
WWE wasted no time in sparking a legal battle with the Brock Lesnar when the beast walked out of the company after they invested so much on him. It was a big talking point back till the conflict was settled outside court.
A similar incident happened with Albert Del Rio as well. However, WWE has been silent about Punk even though he walked out while he was still on contract. This obviously tells that they didn’t want to burn any bridges with Punk.
Vince could’ve easily sued Punk for ruining the WrestleMania plans and instead, he just sat back and let Punk make the first move. There is a lot of mystery surrounding this and at the same time, both parties came to a settlement where the company still sells CM Punk merchandise, still has him in the 2K15 game and the Flintstones movie that is coming out.
#1 Vince McMahon apologized
Vince once said that ‘Bret screwed Bret’ when Bret Hart walked out of the company after Montreal Screwjob. But this same guy came out and apologized to Punk.
CM Punk has some great friction with Triple H, period. But it’s not Hunter who runs the company now, its Vince McMahon. Punk did bury Vince big time in his podcast but he never said that he had a problem with Vince.
The chairman on the other hand reacted positively to everything that Punk said. He actually appreciated Punk for being sincere about his rant and made it clear that the door is always open for him to return.
This was not the reaction that we expected from Vince after Punk told all that but in true professional style, Vince won many hearts. If he did win Punk’s heart with those comments then that would make matters easier.
So if one day, Punk decides to get back into the squared circle, Vince will always make a positive negotiation with the straight edge superstar because the boss knows what is best for business.
