After a great outing at Extreme Rules, WWE will be making their next pay-per-view stop at Rosemont, Illinois for Payback.Like always, the superstars will be looking to step their game up for the pay-per-view as it presents them with the opportunity to make their mark on a bigger stage than the weekly television shows. With a new movement of pushing the younger generation in full force, many surprising performances could be expected from Payback that could set the tone for the summers biggest event. Extreme Rules saw many similar risings and here is a look at who all could get the most out of the second edition of Payback.
#5 Adam Rose
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
From the looks of it, WWE is going to do another Fandango like thing with Rose and give him a debut at a pay-per-view. According to the reports, what they are planning is to let the fans seep into his party gimmick before he gets into the ring.
His debut at Raw suggested the same as he just made Zeb Colter mad rather than getting a match. Things might continue just like that till the pay-per-view where he will finally show off his in ring skills.
The WWE Universe will get to know what Rose is all about outside his gimmick. From his NXT and Indy days we know that he a good wrestler and Payback will be the first place where he will get a chance to let the whole world know that.
Rose won’t hesitate to seize the opportunity and could get over well on his debut.
#4 Seth Rollins
No matter how drunken WWE is about Roman Reigns, one has to admit that Seth Rollins is the most polished in ring performer in the Shield.
He has been showing his caliber for so long now and after WrestleMania he just changed gears. Rollins started selling moves like Shawn Michaels used to do in his prime and also added a mix of craziness into the whole thing making him look more exciting.
The baby face run has clearly done the trick for WWE and they are reaping the benefits of it. At Extreme Rules, though WWE made Reigns look strong, it was the spot that Rollins did which stood out from the entire match.
He is slowly turning into a show stealer and Payback might be the next phase of development for Rollins.
#3 Roman Reigns
WWE is hell bound to make Reigns the next face of the company and the way he was booked in Extreme Rules was the latest hint dropped.
Reigns was the one who picked up the win for his team and he was also the only man standing at the end of the match. It is a mere continuation of the big moments he got at Survivor Series and Royal Rumble.
With the Evolution at his disposal once again at Payback, Reigns could deliver another great performance which will set him up for the SummerSlam clash with Triple H.
He could be the one that take out Batista out of action for some time which will make him look better since fans really would love Batista going into the shelf.
#2 Sheamus
Ever since Sheamus returned to the WWE programming, he hasn’t been on the pay-per-view scene for a major singles match. At WrestleMania he ended up in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal while at Extreme Rules he was seen sleeping in the pre-show panel.
But the night after Extreme Rules Sheamus got what he wanted in form of the United States Championship.
The title which was dying in the hands of Dean Ambrose found new life at the hands of an established name like Sheamus.
What this means is that Sheamus has an opportunity to get some quality pay-per-view time defending the title. Since he hasn’t had a major opportunity after the return, Sheamus is going to make full use of this one and steal the show who ever his opponent is.
#1 Kane
The creative team might be screwing up the Daniel Bryan- Kane angle with some stuff which is happening outside the ring but once they get rid of it and let the two fights it out, it’s going to be a match worth remembering.
Their encounter at Extreme Rules had so many memorable moments and from the looks of it, the two will now face off again in a buried alive match at Payback.
Another fact which lingers is that this might be last appearance that Kane will be making in a while. So he will be going out with a bang even if he loses.
The Buried alive stipulations is going to give Kane that extra Launchpad that will make him look more demonic and let him shine.
