WWE certainly made some best for business decisions at Extreme Rules while some others didnt sit exactly well with the fans as the company planned. The next stop where they will get to rectify those mistakes and make things better for the fans will be in Chicago for Payback. Even though WWE took some great strides after WrestleMania, they are still screwing up certain things which need to be made up in their next pay-per-view.There will be a lot of pressure on the creative team as usual to live up to the expectations of the fans and here is a look at what all things that the WWE should do at Payback to make sure it doesnt end up below par.
#5 Bringing back AJ Lee
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The night after WrestleMania proved to be a groundbreaking one for the Divas division at it saw a new champion crowned in the form of Paige. AJ Lee soon took some time off to let Paige build her own fan base.
Even though Paige had all the resources in her to be a credible champion what she didn’t have was a good opponent.
Tamina was the best opponent that she had in the division and WWE already played up that card at Extreme Rules and probably for Payback as well. But once that ends, Paige will be left as an unexplored talent with no good opponent.
Bringing back AJ Lee can solve the problem and the two could work a feud all the way to SummerSlam because they both sure know how to entertain inside the ring and with the microphone.
#4 Adam Rose debut
The fans are still getting a taste of the Adam Rose character and the fans who are not familiar with his work in NXT will need more time.
So WWE don’t need to push his in ring debut into a weekly television show and instead could just let him have a party till Payback. He could let the fans buy his gimmick and also make them dance as he does in NXT before letting them enjoy his in ring work.
Since there is so much more to Rose than just the gimmick, a bigger exposure at Payback is what he deserves to make his debut. The probable opponent could be Jack Swagger and a win would be a great start for the hard hitting South African.
#3 Usos dropping the title
The tag titles used to be a mainstay in the pay-per-views. But from WrestleMania, the title has been on an eager attempt to find some relevance.
The WWE’s fondness to break up tag teams is one thing to blame for the current situation and the only possible way that they could fix things might be to let the Usos drop the titles.
Ryback and Curtis Axel has been on a role recently and are the only credible threat left in the division since Rhodes Brothers are not getting a title shot due to their impending breakup.
The company could take the title away from Usos for a while to breathe back life into the division so that they could have the ideal setting for Ascension’s main roster debut.
#2 Letting Evolution win against Shield
It was actually something that should’ve happened in Extreme Rules but better late than never. The Evolution as booked very strong in the non-wrestling segments after their return but when it came to their match, Evolution was made to look weak.
The loss clearly put Shield over among the fans but it wasn’t particularly good for an established stable like Evolution.
WWE needs to make them look strong in their reunion, if they are to stretch the Shield a bit further. They also need to send Batista on a good note for his break which makes it a necessary to Evolution to pick up a win at Payback.
#1 Ending the Daniel Bryan- Kane feud
People never actually saw Kane as a possible opponent for Bryan’s title reign but it was fun till their match at Extreme Rules.
Kane proved to be a great first challenge for the flying goat and it was a good decision from the company to push the feud to after making Kane look strong at Extreme Rules. But they soon made the fans realize it was taking matters outside the ring.
Involvement of Brie made look Bryan weak and he was not the same guy we saw before WrestleMania. it was the never back up from a fight attitude that made Bryan so over with the fans but it soon wore off as the angle progressed.
WWE needs to put an end to the drama after giving some good ring time for the two so that they don’t bury the momentum that Bryan is riding on.
