5 Things that the WWE fans should know about KENTA

WWEs desperation to expand their business to all corners of the world have seen them secure the lights of wrestlers that are considered to be legends in other parts of the sphere. And as a result of these efforts, Japanese sensation Kenta has found his way into the WWE roster. After establishing himself over in Japan and the independent circuit of United States, Kenta joining WWE was one of the most anticipated moments for a majority of the fans. However, the fans that do not belong to this category only see Kenta as another Japanese Superstar who is bound to be a failure in the WWE. So for them, here is a look at some of the things that all the WWE fans should know about the companys new recruit.

#5 Kenta was interested in baseball and kickboxing before entering wrestling

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Ever wondered where all the power in his kicks came from? Well, there is no need to look further as the answer for that question comes from Kenta’s past before he entered the professional wrestling career.

Kenta was a big fan of kick boxing and used to practice it regularly. He was also fond of baseball and had an eye out for the sport as well.

However, it was the practices in the former which later provided him the foundation to be a wrestler with some strong kicking style. His kicks were so strong that it made Daniel Bryan deaf temporarily.

WWE will be toning down the kicks to the face but there will be shades of the old Kenta out there for the WWE Universe to witness.

#4 The secret behind his new name

Kenta’s love for baseball was mentioned earlier and his new name is apparently derived from that love. The first part of his name Hideo is in honor of a former pitcher named Hideo Nomo.

And the latter part of the name, Itami comes from famous Japanese Manga, Naruto which also shows Kenta’s love for the Anime.

His name in the Indy’s ‘Kenta’ was an honor to his teacher and another Japanese legend Kenta Kobayashi.

Once the fans were confused, Kenta decided to use only capitals in his name to get a certain distinction from his master while WWE chose to stick with Hideo Itami.

#3 William Regal was responsible for his signing

Anyone with a good amount of knowledge about professional wrestling would understand how important William Regal has been for the WWE.

He has been working as a scout, trainer, wrestler, commentator, general manager and many more roles over the past years and one thing that he has done exceptionally is to dwell out some exceptional talents.

He was instrumental in signing and developing Bryan after the flying goat was fired from WWE. And now, Regal spent his influence to make sure that Kenta ended up in the company.

With Bryan being such a success story in the company thanks to Regal’s trust and guidance, Kenta’s fans also can keep their hopes high for this spell.

#2 CM Punk and Daniel Bryan had moves inspired from Kenta

Kenta’s hard-hitting style is never going to be fully utilized in the WWE. Some of his moves would be scrapped off for sure but the moves that will stay are the one that the WWE fans have already seen.

CM Punk’s finisher, the Go to Sleep was Kenta’s move. Kenta won numerous matches with the move and it’s a sad fact that many fans would now see Kenta as someone who copies the move while it is the exact opposite.

Along with this, Daniel Bryan’s ‘Busaiku Knee Kick’ is Kenta’s another move. Kenta started using the move long before Bryan used it in WWE.

His new finisher seems impressive but WWE should let Kenta use the go to sleep now that CM Punk is not in the company.

#1 He had epic matches with Daniel Bryan

One of the reasons why the WWE fans loved Daniel Bryan is because of the fact that he can actually wrestle. The same will apply to Kenta without any doubt and before these two would tear down the WWE arenas, the fans should know about the history that these to have.

Kenta has faced Bryan in five separate occasions outside WWE. Though most of the matches were tag team contests, when these two stepped in between the ropes, there was a chemistry that every wrestling wants to see in the matches.

Bryan doesn’t have a particular good record against Kenta when it comes to the numbers but whenever these two faced eachother it was all about the fans.

The singles matches were nothing less than epic and hopefully Bryan would be back soon so that these two can add more to that already impressive list.
