Fastlane marks the time when storylines for WrestleMania finally begin taking some shape. It is the only roadblock before we officially kick off the road to WrestleMania. The main event is quickly shaping up to look like Roman Reigns trying to overcome the Authority which is quite the tried and tested storyline. The main event features Reigns, Ambrose and Lesnar facing each other to determine who’ll main event Wrestlemania and face Triple H for the title.Apart from storylines there are a lot of questions that take shape surrounding either storylines or superstars. Here are the top 5 unanswered questions on the road to Fastlane-
#5 What about Owens?
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Kevin Owens has lost two consecutive matches to Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler has been quite accustomed to bad booking that has rendered him in a position where meaningful storylines just don’t quite come to him. But is there something to his victories in the past couple of weeks?
We can’t think of what Kevin Owens is doing for WrestleMania when does not really have a Fastlane match set up. What will Owens and Ziggler do at Fastlane or are they just going to be people who Creative has nothing for on the road to Wrestlemania?
#4 The Clash
AJ Styles, as of now, is not booked for Fastlane. But ever since his arrival he’s been termed as a rookie by Chris Jericho and this has kicked off a feud that has been an unlikely success. These two have delivered two spectacular matches and the story there is simple yet significant.
Jericho may well be the best first opponent Styles needs in the WWE. It’s a subtle storyline compared to everything that surrounds it in the WWE but comes WrestleMania, this may gain more traction.
But what about Fastlane? Will they or won’t they have a match?
#3 Will history repeat itself?
For the last two years, WWE’s narrative of a Wrestlemania storylines has been interrupted by what the people think should be the main event. Two years ago, Daniel Bryan was nowhere near the main event picture around the Royal Rumble which Batista won to insurmountable boos.
That was followed by the infamous Roman Reigns moment in 2015. We all know how WrestleMania turned out for these two. Both them were made to submit or took the pin in the main event.
Roman Reigns is still in a hazy situation. For how great The Authority is as a heel faction, Reigns is not at par when it comes to being the babyface. Will Triple H vs Roman Reigns stay intact or will there be a wildcard lying around somewhere?
#2 What about the IC title?
A night after Ambrose fought tooth and nail in a splendid Last Man Standing match against Kevin Owens, he was suddenly put in the main event of Fastlane. Thus that meant the Intercontinental title won’t have any takers in the next PPV. After briefly being rabidly successful at getting some relevance to the title, WWE shifted gears to put Ambrose in contention of another title.
What happens to the IC title? Will there be some tease of a WrestleMania feud for Ambrose at Fastlane?
#1 Will Lesnar get pinned?
By now it should be clear what The Authority is trying to do. They have Reigns face his brother so there are cracks in the relationship and The Beast so that he gets mauled and is nowhere in a position to go into WrestleMania fully fit.
Then they may have Bray Wyatt interfere and cost Lesnar the match. By now, we may think that Ambrose is there simply to get pinned. Isn’t that what we thought during the Fatal Four Way match between all members of The Shield and Randy Orton? But it was Orton who took the pin.
But why would Wyatt help Reigns to gain the pin? Won’t that contradict his ‘Anyone but you’ motto against Reigns? Would that mean Ambrose gaining the win?
Lesnar may well get pinned at Fastlane. We’ll have to just wait and watch.
