Whether it's their lack of talent inside the ring, the difficulty of crafting good and compelling storylines for their character, or just because they constantly succumb toinjuries, these are the five superstars who will not last another five years in The WWE. Some may overcome their shortcomings and surprise you. Others wont. Take a look.
#5 Eva Marie
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
A pretty face can only take you so far. Eva Marie has been apart of The WWE for over a year now, and her only talent seems to be helping wresting fans create new “Eva Marie is dumb” memes on the internet. Once Total Divas is either over, or just over Eva Marie, she wont be kept around for very long. She may stay on as a jobber for the Divas Division, but she wont serve much of a purpose in any other in ring role.
#4 Alexander Rusev
The Bulgarian brute is just filled with talent and potential, but unfortunately, the way the WWE books its big men, I have little faith that either of those things will be recognized. Yes, Rusev is currently involved in a compelling anti American storyline with Jack Swagger and now Mark Henry. But how long before WWE Creative is forced to finally end the story and move on with something fresh for Rusev?
I'm not saying they can't come up with something else that is as compelling as his storyline now, but with past bookings of giants in the WWE as any indicator, Rusev really doesn't have much of a chance of lasting too long.
#3 Seth Rollins
This guy is just an injury away from risking his career in the company. Rollins may be a former NXT and tag team champion, he may also be the architect of the most dominant faction in WWE’s recent history, but he is also the most detrimental person to his own career. The move set that Rollins has created during his career, including the curb stomp off the ropes and his suicide dives outside the ring, are eventually going to leave Rollins prone to constant injuries.
The WWE seems to like Rollins right now and will continue to push him to the main event picture as long as he’s healthy, but what about when the injuries start piling up? Then what do you do with a constantly injured superstar that you’ve put so much story and time into? Yes, a superstar should put on a great show for The WWE Universe at all times, but they should also focus on living to fight another day as well.
#2 Fandango
No, he’s not out the door yet, but he really should be by now. Fandango started out his career on the main roster, with a huge victory over Christ Jericho at WresteMania 29, but has had little success since that victory. He did earn a spot in the Intercontinental title match last year against The Miz and Wade Barrett , but was later withdrawn from the match six days before the pay-per-view, due to a legitimate concussion.
His current storyline with Summer Rae and Layla is a huge joke, and only shows that the writers have no idea what to do with him only two years into his career. Maybe the woman slayer angle will last a bit longer, but I can't see Summer Rae and Layla distracting Fandango during his matches as humorous for much longer. Its barely entertaining at this point.
#1 Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan finally stood atop the mountain as WWE Word Heavyweight Champion at WresteMania 30. He had spent the last year of his career battling the Authority and chasing the WWE Word Title away from the face of The WWE, Randy Orton. Unfortunately, Bryan’s dream of a lengthy title reign didn't last, as it was announced that he would require neck surgery and would have to vacate the title to The Authority. It's sad, I know, but it's also another case of, what can WWE do if a top star is injured?
The answer is unfortunately, stop pushing the top star. Bryan has been very prone to injuries during his hunt for the title, including a concussion last December in a Cage match with Bray Wyatt and even a back injury he suffered during a match with Randy Orton in July. Daniel Bryan just isn't a reliable enough superstar to carry the company into the future and his constant injuries prove just that. It was also announced this week that Bryan would also have to undergo Tommy John surgery, and would be out for a additional three months, leaving little doubt in my mind , that Daniel Bryan will ever be a main event guy in the WWE ever again. In fact, he may have to go somewhere else if he wants to main event again.
