#5 8/87 vs India

To begin with it starts against India when in 2001 he floored the Indian batsmen-who have been traditionally known to be good players of the spin with his bowling. And in turn made them fear his action for almost the next decade.

Even during his final years he had a bagful of tricks and that showed in 2006 when he floored the England batting line-up at Trent Bridge during the 2ndinnings.

Against a West Indies side in 2005, he took 8 wickets in the 2ndinnings. It happened in the Asgiriya Stadium and a strong West Indies side looked toothless against his bowling.

In 1998 at the Kennington Oval Muralitharan ripped apart the England batting line-up and left them aghast with his superb bowling. Muralitharan’s best bowling performance in Tests came against Zimbabwe where he bamboozled the batsmen with spin and trickery of arm action. He gave 51 runs taking 9 wickets in return and this performance came almost after 10 years since his International debut.
