Dreamfall Chapters takes off where Dreamfall: The Longest Journey left it, continuing the tale of the twin worlds of magic and science in a new layout. Through different levels, the players will embark on a long journey to meet various characters, discover and explore wondrous worlds and find a new storyline. It is a story-driven adventure about choices and consequences, dreams and reality, magic and science, chaos and order, and the broken heroes whose actions will shape the course of history in all worlds.

While playing this game you'll experience a deep and emotional episodic storyline as you explore beautiful, rich, detailed and original worlds that combine a stunning cyberpunk vision of the future with magical fantasy, along with a broken and decaying dreamscape.

10/10 would play this sequel to the award-winning game; Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.

#7 Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

Released – Sep 3, 2014

Developer-Starbreeze AB This game's theme is about how death takes so much from us but still we move on with our lives in acceptance. The story is about two brothers who set out on a journey to find the rejuvenating "Water of Life" to save their ill-stricken, dying father.

Between these two brothers, there's this subtle charm in their non-verbal interaction and storytelling which is really compelling. One prominent feature of the game is the key bindings, AKA the keyboard controls. i.e., you control 2 characters at once using both your hands(WASD and the arrow keys). This element made the gameplay more unique and quite funny at times.

Hands down, this game is a must play for adventurous game lovers out there and to get a feel of true brotherly love. (Can’t deny, made us all cry )

#6 The Blackwell Epiphany

Released-Apr 24, 2014

Developer-Wadjet Eye Games Blackwell is a series of five graphic adventure video games where the plots usually revolve around Rosangela Blackwell a spiritual medium, and her spirit guide Joey, who work to help ghosts transition to the afterlife.

The story is mature, the puzzles may be too easy for an adventure pro, but they fit in perfectly. The length of the title is appropriate actually and the graphics are of a 16-bit retro pixel art look, but it adds up to the game's overall feel, proving that gameplay is much more important than graphics.

The game provides strong voice acting, plots and the finale is heart-wrenching.

#5 Valiant Hearts: The Great War

Released-24th June 2014

Developer-Ubisoft Set in an era of World War I, Valiant hearts: The Great War is one of the best adventure games of the year. With 4 main protagonists, we have to help a young deported German soldier reunite with his French wife during the war. This game bonds deeply with its players on an emotional level where it reveals the outcomes of war on people, regardless of nationalities. One key element of the game is the presentation of actual facts in mid-gameplay which is a pretty cool way to impart factual info to the players.

All in all, Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a great game with variable gameplay, impressive artstyle and a great storyline.

#4 The Walking Dead Season 2

Released-December 2013 to August 2014

Developer-Telltale Games The Walking Dead is a survival zombie game, which is less about killing zombies and more about building relationships between the characters. In April 2012 Telltale games released the first episode of season 1 in which Clementine, a young girl is rescued by an ex-convict(Lee everett) during the world zombie infestation.

In this year's season 2 of the game, it picks up where the game left off in season 2 where Lee dies (tragically) and Clementine is left out all on her own. The Walking Dead game is just like Telltale's other games; point-and-click adventure and player-decision based, which results in different consequences.

All considered, The Walking Dead Season 2 is seriously engaging and gives us serious emotional attachment issues with the characters.
