FIFA 15 : Best Atletico Madrid team

Atletico Madrid made their presence felt last season by winning the Liga BBVA ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona. An impressive run upto the Champions League final helped them eshtabilish themselves as an european giant, a run in which they saw-off several big teams from the continent. This time around, they have lost some key players in the transfer window and have a refreshed squad. We predict the best Atletico Madrid team in FIFA 15 based on the ratings in the game in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

#1 Miguel Angel Moya (GK)

Moya was signed from Getafe in the transfer window as a replacement for Chelsea-bound Thibaut Courtois. The spaniard had a good season last time and his new team will surely expect him to shine in goal, specially after the heroics of Courtois last season. His best attributes are Reflexes and Diving. He’s rated at 78 in FIFA 15 and is the first choice shot-stopper ahead of Oblak (77).

#2 Juanfran (RB)

Juanfran proved to be a key player in their quest to the La Liga title last season. He is a good defender and can make superb tackles and interceptions. He provides that extra width in counter-attacks with his good crossing and dribbling. He is really fast and agile and makes those terrifying overlapping runs on the wings. He has immense stamina and is a real work-horse of a player. He’s rated at 79 and is among the best right backs in FIFA 15.

#3 Diego Godin (CB)

Diego Godin has been a reliable wall at the back for Atletico Madrid for quite sometime now. Also, he provides that aerial threat during set-pieces with his exceptional heading accuracy. Tackling, Interceptions and Marking are his best attributes and he is the team’s best defender. He is rated at 84 in FIFA 15 and is one of the best CB’s in the game.

#4 Miranda (CB)

Miranda is a strong defender with a lot of aggression. He’s a great header of the ball and is capable of finding the net once in a while. He is an expert in standing and slide tackles and makes those key interceptions in the game that prove decisive. Rated at 83 in FIFA 15, he makes a formidable partnership with Godin at the back.

#5 Siqueira (LB)

Siqueira signed for Atletico in this tranfer window. Brought in to fill in the left-back position vacated by Filipe Luis, the Brazillian has been impressive so far this season. He is fast enough and is a great crosser of the ball. Also, he is a good dribbler apart from being a good enough defender. He has a lot of endurance and seems certain to do well. He is rated at 77 in FIFA 15.

#6 Gabi (CDM)

Gabi is a calming presence in the Atletico Madrid midfield. He is capable of delivering excellent long balls with his good range of passing. He knocks the ball around with absolute control and has a great great vision. He is pretty strong defensively too. Also, he can get the ball to curve a lot and has decent shot power to trouble keepers. He is rated 82 in FIFA 15 and is our skipper for the team.

#7 Tiago (CDM)

Tiago’s passing capabilities are a cause of concern for the opponents. An expert in long and short passing, he has the vision to carve out defenses with his defense splitting through balls. He fits into the holding midfielder’s role pretty well with commendable control over the ball and his aggression keeps him going throughout. He is rated 80 in FIFA 15.

#8 Arda Turan (RW)

Arda Turan was one of the best performers for the team last season and is fully expected to have a good outing this season as well. He has mostly been deployed on the right wing after the arrival of Griezmann and has proved to be eually effective. His best attributes are his drbbling and ball control. Moreover, he has excellent balance and agility that help him beat defenders easily. He has a great vision and is a regular provider. He is rated at 84 (should have been higher) in FIFA 15.

#9 Koke (CAM)

Koke has excelled in his role as an attacking midfielder. He is a real playmaker with exceptional passing abilities and can deliver some excellent through balls for attackers to pounce on. He has great ball control and a creative vision apart from the stamina and power he possesses. he is rated at 82 in FIFA 15.

#10 Antoine Griezmann (LW)

Griezmann had a good season which was followed by an impressive show in the world cup. Signed in the summer from Real Sociedad, he has fit in well into the team. Although he is capable of playing on either wing, he is preferred on the left. He is a true winger with explosive speed, dribbling skills and ball control. He is also a good finisher and often causes havoc with his positioning. He is rated at 82 in FIFA 15.

#11 Mario Mandzukic (ST)

Known for his exceptional heading prowess, Mandzukic was signed in the transfer window as a real-time replacement for the outgoing Diego Costa. He is really strong and and aggressive attacker of the ball. He is really good at volleys and has great shot power. He’s a beast in the air, arguably one of the best. Also, he has good stamina and is a real poacher with excellent positioning and finishing. He is rated at 83 in FIFA 15.
