We had analysed the best playing 11 for Argentina in the game, and we move a step ahead to analyse the team that beat them in the World Cup finals in Brazil recently to be crowned the World Champions for the 4th time. Here is FIFA 15’s best German team. We will go ahead with the 4-2-3-1 formation and will help you find the best player for each of those positions.
#1 Manuel Neuer (GK)

FIFA 15 rating: 90
Back up player – Roman Weidenfeller (83)
We start off with the obvious candidate. Manuel Neuer is the best goalkeeper in FIFA 15 and the situation is pretty much the same in the real world as well. He is also a part of an elite group of players who are rated 90 and above in the game which incidentally also makes him the highest rated German player in FIFA 15. Borussia Dortmund’s Weidenfeller will be his back up option in the playing 11 with an overall rating of 83 to his name.
#2 Phillip Lahm (RB)
FIFA 15 rating: 87
Back up player - Kevin Grosskreutz (77)
Phillip Lahm is FIFA 15’s best defensive midfielder. But in this case, we will push him back to the right back slot just where he operated during the World Cup final. He might have retired from International football, but you can still summon him in the virtual world. Considering the kind of quality Germany has in central midfield, Lahm moving to the right back slot would be better for you gamers as well. Borussia Dortmund’s Kevin Grosskreutz would be the back up option at this position.
#3 Mats Hummels (CB)
FIFA 15 rating: 86
Back up player - Per Mertesacker (83)
Hummels is among the best CB’s in FIFA 15 and is one of the most sought after defenders in World football right now. And you can see why with the kind of displays he has put in for Dortmund and Germany in recent times. He should be your first choice CB and Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker (despite his international retirement) would be your ideal back up for Hummels with a rating of 83 to his name.
#4 Jerome Boateng (CB)
FIFA 15 rating: 85
Back up player - Holger Badstuber (82)
Jerome Boateng can operate as a full back on either side if required, but is best used as a centre back. Of all the four players we have discussed so far protecting the goal, not even one of them has a rating below 85 and that shows you the quality the World Champions have. The back up player will be Holger Badstuber with a rating of 80.
#5 Benedikt Howedes (LB)
FIFA 15 rating: 82
Back up player - Marcel Schmelzer (78)
Howedes plays for Schalke in the Bundesliga and is one of the vital cogs in their line up. Even though he is primarily a CB, Germany used him as a left back in the World cup to good effect. Follow the norm and use the 26 year old as your first choice left back for Die Mannschaft. Dortmund left back Marcel Schmelzer will be the back up player at this position with a rating of 78.
#6 Bastian Schweinsteiger (CM)
FIFA 15 rating: 88
Back up player - Sami Khedira (84)
Germany’s new captain Bastian Schweinsteiger is the obvious first choice candidate for the Central Midfielder slot with his commanding presence. He is among the best central midfielders in FIFA 15 with a high rating of 88 and the man who ‘almost’ missed the World Cup due to injury, Sami Khedira will be his back up for this position since he is rated 84 in the game. Not bad for a back up right?
#7 Toni Kroos (CM)
FIFA 15 rating: 85
Back up player - Ilkay Gundogan (83)
Toni Kroos has cemented his spot in the national side for good. He should find a spot in your FIFA 15 German eleven as well. He has a high rating of 85 and some feel that he should be rated even more. The back up player would be none other than Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan as he has a rating of 83 to his name.
#8 Marco Reus (LM)
FIFA 15 rating: 86
Back up player - Andre Schurrle (81)
Make way for Marco Reus. He might have missed the World Cup due to an injury, but there should be no excuses from your side to leave him out of the playing 11 in the game. Rated 86, he is specialised on the left side of midfield. He is also one of the best free kick takers in FIFA 15. His back up will be Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle who scored three goals in the tournament and provided the assist for the goal that won the trophy for Germany.
#9 Mesut Ozil (CAM)
FIFA 15 rating: 86
Back up player - Mario Gotze (85)
Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze who scored the winner in the World Cup finals has to settle for second best due to the presence of Mesut Ozil since he is rated lower than him. Even though Germany played Ozil on the left in Reus absence, you should look to bring him back to his most comfortable position as a number 10.
#10 Thomas Muller (RM)
FIFA 15 rating: 86
Back up player - Sidney Sam (80)
10 goals in two World Cup tournaments already, and he is just 24 years old. Thomas Muller is on track to break the all time record if he holds on to his form in the coming years. He is rated 86, and his back up will be Sidney Sam who is rated 80. Sam might not be in the reckoning for a spot in the national side, so you can even play Gotze on the right on a temporary basis if you lose Muller to injury or suspension.
#11 Mario Gomez (ST)
FIFA 15 rating: 82
Back up player - Miroslav Klose (81)
We could have easily put Muller up front and probably Gotze on the right, but since we are looking for specialists in each position, we are bringing Mario Gomez back to the national fold as our target man up front. He is rated 82 in the game and his back up would be the legendary Miroslav Klose with a rating of 81. If you don’t want to use Klose due to the fact that he retired, then settle for Bayer Leverkusen’s Stefan Kiessling (who is also rated the same) as your back up striker.
