In just over a weeks time, WWE will come out with the Money in the Bank PPV, which will roll out of Boston, Massachusetts John Cenas territory. While WWE would be tempted to hand over the WWE World Heavyweight championship to Cena, with him not being involved in any feuds for the time being, and with the financial losses that jolted the WWE, the smartest thing to do would be to put the title on someone who is seen as the future of the WWE, and has the potential to put on great feuds with other superstars. Two ladder matches have been announced for the show, with one ladder match involving seven superstars for the WWE World Heavyweight championship, and the other with the MiTB contract on the line.Money in the Bank PPV has always provided excitement for the WWE fans. From CM Punk walking out of the WWE with the WWE title to Daniel Bryan winning the Money in the Bank ladder match, the PPV has given us some memorable moments in the past. This year wont be much different, with WWE World Heavyweight title up for grabs, as well as a contract to challenge the WWE World Heavyweight champion any time within the next year. With the PPV promising to be one of the most exciting events of the year, there are a few things that can be done during the PPV to make the world of WWE interesting again. In this article, I look at five things that can happen on the show that will change the direction of the WWE for the better.
#5 Sami Zayn debuting on the show
NXT has two amazing talents in the form of Neville and Zayn, and with Neville being the NXT champion, he wont be debuting on the main roster any time soon. Saying that, Sami Zayn will be at home in a ladder match being an incredible high flyer, and can surprise everyone by debuting on the PPV in the second ladder match for the Money in the Bank briefcase. Sami has been receiving rave reviews and praises from the superstars and the WWE management, with the likes of John Cena endorsing him as the future of the company.
Zayn can be the final participant in the ladder match, which will generate a lot of buzz among the Internet Wrestling Community and the casual fans alike. WWE can use his high flying style to their advantage, and let him showcase his talents to the world on the PPV. That would not only result in a new superstar on the roster, but will also be a shocking moment on the show, something which WWE direly needs.
#4 Cesaro becoming the new champion
“Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman” DVD is set to come out in the month of August, and what better way to promote that than putting the WWE World Heavyweight championship on Cesaro? Cesaro is one of the best talents in the WWE right now, and has been ready to become a main eventer for quite a while. Going into the ladder match at the MiTB PPV for the WWE World Heavyweight championship, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that he will be one of the favorites to win the bout and become the new champion.
With Brock Lesnar set to return soon, we can see a great feud between Cesaro and Lesnar with Paul Heyman playing the peace maker between the two. If WWE wants to turn Cesaro face completely, we can see Heyman screwing Cesaro like he did with Brock Lesnar a decade ago, creating an interesting scenario in the company. Also, with Daniel Bryan set to return in a month or so, he can be inserted into the program resulting in a three way match for SummerSlam.
#3 Two champions crowned on the PPV
I understand that the WWE wanted just one champion, now that the brand extension doesn’t make any sense. But with so many superstars on board, and many of them being former world champions, one feels that WWE would be better off having two world champions instead of one. It would also lead to better PPV matches and co – main events on the PPV, which is similar to what UFC does today. At the Money in the Bank PPV, WWE has the chance to start an intriguing storyline with two people grabbing the titles instead of one.
One of the scenarios that can take place is two separate superstars bringing down a title each, which can either lead to a unification match on the next PPV, or can mark the return of two world champions in the company. Either way, it would lead to a very interesting storyline, something which the WWE direly needs. Many people have been complaining about the quality of the show going down in recent months, and this can be one of the best solutions for that problem.
#2 Brock Lesnar making his return
Brock Lesnar hasnt been seen in the WWE since he defied the odds and defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30 earlier this year. Lesnar is scheduled to return to the WWE soon, and is rumored to main event this years SummerSlam. WWE can start the build up to the match at the Money in the Bank PPV, where Lesnar returns to make an impact. Although WWE would need to come up with a creative storyline for that to happen, it will undoubtedly create shockwaves in the company, something similar to what happened when Paul Heyman screwed CM Punk at last years Money in the Bank PPV.
Brock Lesnar is rumored to be the number one contender once we crown a new WWE World Heavyweight champion, and was originally penciled to wrestle Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam. But with Bryan undergoing a surgery, he hasnt been medically cleared to compete, which forced the WWE to change their original plans to go ahead with Plan B. Itll be interesting to see what WWE does at the MiTB PPV, and one has to believe that bringing back the beast incarnate would be the wise decision, hyping his role at SummerSlam.
#1 The return of Chris Jericho
It feels like forever since we had last seen Chris Jericho in the WWE. After taking another long break from the wrestling business, Chris Jericho has been linked with a return to the WWE this year, and that can happen at the Money in the Bank PPV. There are two ways WWE can plan his return Imagine Cesaro winning the WWE World Heavyweight championship, and as the stunned fans look on, the lights go out and Chris Jericho returns in a new avatar, challenging Cesaro for a match at the next PPV for the WWE World Heavyweight championship! If that doesnt get you excited as a wrestling fan, then nothing will.
Another way WWE can book Jerichos return is by putting him in the second ladder match for the Money in the Bank briefcase, and having him win the match, earning the opportunity to cash it in at any time within the next year. Jericho can then be inserted into a program with the WWE World Heavyweight champion, leading to a series of amazing matches. Not only will Jericho main event PPVs again, but the fans will also be treated to quality matches on the top of the card. Jericho and the fans will come out as winners if WWE takes a chance with this idea.
