A number of footballers have had some embarrassing moments after getting drunkBeing a professional footballer means an individual needs to set an off the field example and be a role model in society. #1 Sergio Ramos

The Real Madrid defender is known for his short temper on the pitch. And the record number of red cards he has gained in his playing career does reflect that fact.

But just as fans were starting to get impatient with his liabilities, Sergio Ramos stepped up and transformed his game, becoming one of the most important players for the Blancos. His performances in the semi-final against Bayern Munich and the stoppage time equaliser in the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid shaped up Real’s successful campaign.

It was the first time he had tasted European success with his club, carving his name in Bernabeu’s history as the one who brought La Decima. With his country, he has been a part of Spain’s golden generation winning two Euros and one World Cup, which meant that he often got to celebrate the joyous occasion. And often, the Spanish international has enjoyed his victories by getting drunk.

Alcohol gets Ramos all cheered up as stated by his Spanish teammates. The Madrid defender likes to kiss everyone in sight when he is drunk.

#2 Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard is undoubtedly one of the greatest players to have worn the Chelsea shirt. Today, he stands as the top goalscorer in the club’s history and is one of the most respected players in the modern game.

But the former Blues midfielder seemed to have lost all his class back in September 2001 at the Heathrow International airport when he mocked and swore at stranded US tourists after flights were grounded due to the 9/11 attacks by terrorists on the World Trade Center. The 36-year-old did all of this under the influence of alcohol after going on a 5-hour drinking binge before returning to the Posthouse hotel where they abused hotel guests.

Lampard and his fellow players were heavily fined for the incident that happened when Chelsea’s game against Levski Sofia of Bulgaria was suspended as a mark of respect for those killed on 9/11. Even the hotel manager described their behaviour as disgusting as they didn’t seem to care about the tragic incident.

#3 Nicklas Bendtner

So the Lord likes to drop his pants and rub himself against a taxi when drunk! Apparently, those were the reports that came out from Copenhagen, Denmark after Arsenal’s exit to Bayern Munich in the 2014 Champions League final.

The Danish international had a torrid time at the Emirates, spending most of his time on the bench, even though he featured for his national side. And that seemed to have frustrated internet’s most trolled player as he reportedly targeted a taxi driver in Ryesgade, Copenhagen.

It was said that he removed his trousers and rubbed himself up against the side of the taxi. The 26-year-old then allegedly whipped the cab with his belt and called the poor cab driver a "little wh*re". He was so concerned that he called the police.

Hold him or he will abuse ten more.

#4 Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney had been previously spotted smoking and urinating on the streets after getting drunk. Seemed as if he was just like every other brawling English man on the streets of Manchester. But alcohol also is responsible for bringing out Rooney the singer.

The Manchester United forward is known to be a big fan of the band Stereophonics and he himself transforms into a singer after getting drunk it seems. The England international is actually a decent singer if you hear him in the video below. Along with that, Rooney also loves to dance to Michael Jackson tunes while he parties with his friends.

#5 Bastian Schweinsteiger

Well, Bastian Schweinsteiger also loves to sing raucously, especially in the post-victory parties when he was with Bayern Munich. However, those celebrations were at the expense of abusing domestic opponents and arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund.

The German international lead the celebrations by singing "BVB, sons of b******" on stage. The video went viral on the internet and sparked some heated discussions between the Bayern and Dortmund fans. While some didn’t even care and went along with the incident, Schweinsteiger later apologised for his behaviour.

#6 Andrea Pirlo

Winning the Scudetto with Juventus had become a kind of a regular habit for Andrea Pirlo. The veteran playmaker won four consecutive Serie A titles after joining the Bianconeri in 2011.

And with continuous success comes bus parades where, for a change, the aristocrat midfielder lets himself loose with all the alcohol in his bag. He was once caught throwing beer on the assembled crowd and looking like a homeless man on the video below.

Later on in the Scudetto bus parade – Pirlo was seen slumped in the front seat looking rather worse for wear. We are certainly impressed!

#7 David Luiz

Brazil's David Luiz is one of the most interesting and jolly personalties in the game. The Chelsea defender is a lovable character and can also stick out his tongue like Miley Cyrus.

Alcohol can easily get into the centre-back’s head as we saw during the Champions League final celebrations in 2012. He appears full of life and can easily get out of hand. Teammates have claimed that he can dance, sing, show some samba skills when he’s had a few sips from the bottle.

#8 John Terry

Chelsea womaniser John Terry, as everyone likes to call him, has always been the man when it comes to generating 'off the field' headlines. Whenever a woman is mentioned in football, Terry's memes have been overly used. Guess the affair with his then best friend Wayne Bridge's girlfriend will be the definition of Terry for the rest of his career apart from the fact that he also is one of the Blues' all-time greats.

But how does the alcoholic Terry fare amidst all the scandals? To start off, a drunk Terry's traits are public urination, brawling, serial philandering and regular displays of boorishness.

The veteran defender was also accused by a Russian heiress of trying to lure her into bed under the nose of a boyfriend. Well, a drunk Terry did a Terry again.

#9 Mario Balotelli

How drunk can you be to drive into a women's prison and check out how an all-female detention centre works? The answer is Balotelli drunk.

Italian forward Mario Balotelli is renowned to be one of the craziest and most complex characters in this beautiful game. Controversies always seem to follow his footsteps and there have been a hoard of incidents involving him.

The 24-year-old likes to party a lot and has been often seen chilling out in night clubs with booze, smokes and of course girls. But that wasn’t his average Friday night.Balotelli and his friend drove into a women's prison simply because they were curious about a prison that is all female.

#10 Lionel Messi

One of the greatest players of the game, Lionel Messi, doesn't have any infamous incident just to be clear in case you are expecting something ugly from the Argentine. He is known to be a shy, humble and a subdued character and for a player of his status, he manages to keep himself out of media focus.

But Messi loves to drink. We all witnessed the celebrations of FC Barcelona in 2009, where the mercurial forward looked in high spirits and was all around the place during the open top bus parade.

The funny part that the world got to know is that he only speaks Catalan when he is drunk. Messi can barely speak the language but we can make an exception when he had one or two to drink.

He took the microphone and screamed: “Visca el Barça, Visca Catalunya there aguante Argentina, la concha de su madre!” which roughly translates to: “Long Live Barca, Long live Catalonia, and Argentina!”
