#3 Cristiano Ronaldo
2006/07 was the breakthrough season for Portuguese international, Cristiano Ronaldo, in many ways. He breached the 20 goal a season barrier for the first time. He also won the Premier League medal with Manchester United.
On a personal level, He won the PFA Players' Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year awards. In April, he completed the treble by winning the PFA Fans' Player of the Year. He also won the FWA Footballer of the Year becoming the first player to win all four main PFA and FWA awards. Ronaldo was also one of eight Manchester United players named in the 2006–07 PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
For his stellar performances in the month of November and December, he was also been awarded Player of the Month award consecutive times.
In November, he scored one each against Portsmouth and Everton at Old Trafford. But, he was a constant menace on the right flank throughout the month with his speed, stepovers and free-kicks.
Three consecutive braces, against the likes of Aston Villa, Wigan Athletic and Reading, in the space of a gruelling ten days of Premier league, summarized his red hot form. Against Wigan Athletic, he came off the bench at half-time to change the course of the match in 4 minute salvo.
