Nationality: Dutch

Team: Fenerbahce (Super Lig)

Age: 32

Former Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie currently plays for Fenerbahce after he fell out of favour with Louis van Gaal last term. The player took a huge dive in rating this year after having an underwhelming season.

Van Persie, who was previously rated 88, has gone down to 84. While most his card statistics are the same his shooting and pace took a huge dive. Although his shooting stats have gone down, it is still high enough to be one of the best in FIFA 16.

The Dutchman, like his compatriot Wesley Sneijder, will no longer be used as regularly in FIFA Ultimate team due to the difficulty of getting a good team chemistry with his presence. But even if he is used, it will mostly likely be in an all squad filled with Dutch attackers which could include the likes of Robben, Sneijder, Huntelaar, and Depay.

#9 James Rodriguez

Nationality: Colombian

Team: Real Madrid (La Liga)

Age: 24

The World Cup’s wonder boy James Rodriguez has gone on to become the most important Colombian player. Radamel Falcao was the highest rated Colombian up until his disastrous spell at Manchester United.

The player is known for scoring stunners out of nowhere and with his brilliance coming to the fore during the World Cup in Brazil, fans only expected the extraordinary from him.

In FIFA 15, James was one of the most used midfielders in the Ultimate team as he was not too rare and had good ratings all round. While he is not the fastest player, he thrives in possession-based game.

#8 Arjen Robben

Nationality: Dutch

Team: Bayern Munich (Bundesliga)

Age: 31

Bayern Munich’s pacy winger Arjen Robben is one of the best players in FIFA, and the player has been able to hold on to his 90 rating this year. He helped Bayern Munich win their third consecutive league title last season which was their 25th domestic title overall. Along with his teammate Robert Lewandowski, he was the league’s joint second top scorer with 17 goals. The interseting fact though was that, the player managed to score that many goals after missing the last two months of the season.

Robben is a very rare player in FIFA who would thrive in a Bundesliga based squad in Ultimate team. While his natural position is the right wing, he wouldn’t do too bad on the other side as well.

#7 Hulk

Nationality: Brazilian

Team: Zenit Saint Petersburg (Russian Premier League)

Age: 29

Brazilian forward Hulk is the only Brazilian to feature in the list- the player who has been part of the Zenit Saint Petersburg since 2012 has not lost or gained any rank in the new segment of FIFA.

While Hulk’s preferred position is out wide on the right wing, he is a versatile player who can play in any role up front. The player is known for his imposing physicality and extremely powerful shots. Last season, the winger was the league’s top scorer with 15 goals and his contribution was crucial in Zenit Saint Petersburg’s title triumph in the Russian Premier League. The team won the league after 3 years.

While it is hard to accommodate Hulk in a top order Ultimate team squad, he can be included in a Brazilian based squad. In the team, Hulk could play along with Neymar up front, with Coutinho and Oscar behind them.

In a Premier League based team, Aguero would make the best first choice striker. He has decent pace and dribbling skills and can get past the defenders quickly. Although he is not too good in the ai,r if a ball is passed to his feet, he has a very high probability of lashing it into the back of the net.

#3 Lionel Messi

Nationality: Argentinian

Team: Barcelona (La Liga)

Age: 28

Although Lionel Messi is the highest rated player in FIFA 16, he will have to settle for being the third best shooter in the game. Messi, who won a historic second treble with Barcelona last season, was highly instrumental behind their success. He was a major part of Barcelona’s fearsome strike force known as MSN which consists of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar. The Argentine managed to score 43 league goals last season trailing Ronaldo by 5.

The people who would enjoy playing with Messi the most in the game are the ones who enjoy scoring goals after getting past the opposition defense using the player’s brilliant ball control skills, or playing Barcelona’s signature tiki-taka passing style to score some extraordinary team goals.

Messi who also possesses a high acceleration would be useful in getting past opponents who use the offside trap tactic regularly.
