France hosted the tournament for the second time and they were second time lucky as they won the trophy in front of their home crowd for the very first time.
Croatian center forward Devor Suker won the Golden Boot for his 6 goals which assisted Croatia to a surprise third place finish while champions France took the highest goal scoring feat for their 15 goals, just pipping Brazil who scored 14.
