Liverpool have completed the loan signing of Caulker January brings with it a lot of mid-season crisis as well as solutions. The transfer mill is expected to be the same this time around with many clubs seeking reinforcements and many players seeking a new start. There has been a buzz around many players and clubs, with players seeking moves away from their respective clubs for various reasons from playing time to better contracts. Nonetheless, the January window is poised to give us some interesting news. Here are the transfer news and rumours for the day.

Anderson to Manchester United?

- Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson has said that he is unsure of his future amidst reported interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils have been a long-term admirer of the Brazilian and a January move for him might just materialise.

“My future? I don’t know if I’ll stay in January,” admitted Anderson.

“I’m focused on my work because I don’t live in a good moment but I don’t know what will happen.”

- Juventus are supposedly plotting a January move for Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, ESPN reports.

Supposedly, Manchester City were interested in the midfielder and Pep Guardiola was hoping to make the 22-year-old his first signing if at all the Spaniard arrives at the Etihad. However, the Bianconeri are now in the transfer market for the Portuguese player who can be a possible replacement for Andrea Pirlo.

- Napoli are monitoring the situations of FC Porto's Héctor Herrera and Bayer Leverkusen’s Christoph Kramer, Calciomercato reports.

The Partenopei have reportedly offered €16 million for both the players. However, Leverkusen are reportedly asking for a sum around €20 million, whereas Porto want €25 million for Herrera.

Messi to stay at Barcelona

- Former Real Madrid fullback Roberto Carlos has said that it is possible that Neymar might make a move from Barcelona to Real Madrid. Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is believed to be an admirer of the flamboyant winger and wants him at Santiago Bernabeu.

"Neymar is very young," Carlos told Punto Pelota. "I am sure next year he will finish even higher in the Ballon d'Or. I can see one day Neymar coming to Real Madrid."

- Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is willing to bring Mario Suarez back to Barcelona, Goal reports.

The winger joined Villareal during last summer’s transfer window on a four-year deal. However, Enrique wants the 22-year-old back at Camp Nou and has supposedly contacted the player to register his interest.

- Lionel Messi has squashed all the rumours which said that the Argentine talisman might make a move to the Premier League. The Barcelona forward, who won his fifth Ballon D’Or award in Zurich, said that he will never leave the Catalan club. The 28-year-old was rumoured to be a transfer target for Manchester City.

"I've always said that I can't leave Barcelona. It's always my response. I want to finish my career at home and my home is Barcelona. Football changes so much. A year ago, we were all getting criticised and we ended up winning nearly everything. My intention is to terminate my career where it started, in Barcelona.

"I want to keep succeeding with the club. Now is not the time to think about whether this is my peak. It's more important that we keep trying to win, that we work hard. It's a lot to think about."

#3 English Premier League

Shelvey on his way to Newcastle?

- Liverpool have completed the signing of QPR defender Steven Caulker on loan.

The 24-year-old centre-back will be eligible for selection for the Reds’ Premier League match against Arsenal on Wednesday. Caulker spent the first half of the season on-loan at Southampton, however, he only made eight appearances for the club.

- Newcastle United have almost completed the signing of Jonjo Shelvey from Swansea City, Sky Sports reports.

The former Liverpool midfielder will join the Tyneside club for a fee believed to be in the region of £12m. Newcastle are in dire need of reinforcements as they currently lie on the 18th position in the Premier League.

- Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Dele Alli has put pen to paper on a new deal which can keep him at the club till 2021.

"I'm delighted. The club has been really great to me since I arrived," Alli toldSpurs TV.

"We have a great young team and I can only see us moving forward. I am really happy to be here. When I signed here I wanted to play for Tottenham and I was not thinking about going anywhere else at the time.

“The manager and everyone have helped me a lot and thankfully I have broken in and got a few games.”

#4 Rest of Europe

Muller will not follow Guardiola to the Premier League

- Schalke 04 have outrightly rejected the rumours linking Leroy Sane for a move out of the club. Supposedly, the 20-year-old forward was in contract talks with Arsenal, but the German club posted a tweet clarifying that Sane will not be leaving the club in January or in summer.

- Thomas Muller has denied the reports which said that he might follow Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola to the Premier League. Muller was previously linked with a move to Manchester United, however, the German signed a new deal with the Bavarian giants later, which can keep him at the club till 2021.

"The environment [at Bayern], the infrastructure, the history and the culture in recent years are incentives that not every club, or every city, has to offer," Muller said.

"Of course, England offers a lot at the moment, but Bayern does not have to hide."

- In-form Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez has said that he is happy at the club currently, but added that “anything can happen” in the football world. Hernandez, who left Manchester United in the summer, was rumoured to be a target for United’s Premier League rivals Arsenal.

"We'll see, you never know what will happen. For the last two or three years I've played for Manchester United, Real Madrid and now Leverkusen," he said.

"In this sport, it doesn't matter if you sign for 10, 12 years or if you extend by one season every year. Everything can change after six months."
