10 days into the window, we are yet to see any big moves all across Europe, perhaps with the exception of Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri who completed his loan move to Inter Milan earlier this week. The Winter transfer window in Europe starts from the 1st of January and lasts a whole month, two days longer in Spain, Italy, Germany and France. Bringing you all the latest rumours from newspapers and agencies all across Europe, here are all the biggest and the latest transfer rumours of the day:

#1 Liverpool and Manchester United

According to Mirror, Real Madrid’s interest in bringing back David De Gea back to Spain has increased by quite a margin as they have now reportedly contacted the Spaniard’s agent for a move in the next transfer window for £30m summer move.

• A £35m bid for Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels from Manchester United could be on the cards, reports Mirror. The bid has however said to be rejected by the defender’s father.

Another report in Mirror links Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne to Manchester United with manager Louis van Gaal said to be very interested in the acquiring the 23-year-old’s signature.

• Liverpool, who were rumoured to be planning to bring former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain to Anfield from Napoli next summer, might look to secure a deal this month itself, reports Express. Napoli has already completed the signing of Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini for £11million who is touted to be the Argentine’s replacement.

• Liverpool are poised to make a £23.5m bid for Roma’s Miralem Pjanic who has been looked at as out-going Steven Gerrard’s replacement, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to the Daily Mail, Lucas Leiva of Liverpool could be on his way out of the club as Inter Milan are plotting a £7m bid for the Brazilian midfielder.

#2 Chelsea and Arsenal

• Rumours linking Lionel Messi to Chelsea have reached that point of a long-stretched transfer saga where the Sun are now linking him to an audacious £500m move.

• Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out reports of a possible switch Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech stating, “Cech is at Chelsea, we already have three goalkeepers who for me are top class.”

According to Oregon Live, Chelsea’s Didier Drogba is a target for Portland Timbers after their owner Merritt Paulson had revealed their interest in signing the Ivorian.

• Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are preparing a £23m bid for Chelsea’ s out-of-favour forward Andre Schurrle, reports Standard Sport.

#3 Other Premier League rumours

• Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic is very close to completing his switch to Bundesliga side Schalke 04, confirms the Guardian.

• Talks of a move for Swansea City forward Wilfried Bony to Manchester City for £30m could break down following the two clubs’ disagreement over the transfer fee. According to Express, Chelsea are also said to be interested in Bony’s services and could hijack the deal if Manuel Pellegrini refuses to accept Garry Monk’s demands.

• Valencia midfielder Carles Gil is subject to a £3.9m bid from Aston Villa, according to Sky Sports' Guillem Balague.

• Negotiations for Adrien Rabiot between Tottenham Hotspurs’ and Paris Saint-Germain have stalled with the Ligue 1 champions willing to accept the offer only if they are successful in signing a replacement for the 19-year-old, Goal reports.

#4 Real Madrid and other La Liga clubs

• The Telegraph has reported a rumour first posted on Spanish website Fichajes.net which speculates that Gareth Bale will join the Red Devils at the end of the season for a staggering €150 million transfer fee.

According to Marca, Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has set his sights on Real Madrid’s young defender Raphael Varane, and has already held talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes at one of Munich's top restaurants, Geisels Werneckhof.

Speaking to Marca, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has played down the prospect of singing Lucas Silvas with Sami Khedira back to full fitness. He has also revealed that Martin Odegaard had trained with the club’s first and B team.

• MLS outfit Houston Dynamo have completed their signing of RCD Espanyol defender Raul Rodriguez for a free transfer, confirmed MLS’s official website.

#5 Other major rumours all across Europe

According to Football Italia, Zenit St Petersburg’s Axel Witsel is being targeted by AC Milan. The Russian side had signed Witsel for a mammoth fee of €40m but Witsel’s interest to play for the Serie A side could act as a catalyst for the transfer move to proceed. Another report in Sportsmedia speculates that Milan will be offering Zenit €3m for an initial loan move with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season for a fee of€17m.

• Serie A champions Juventus are targetting Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj for a loan spell, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Carlo Laudisa.

According to TuttomerCatoWeb, Tottenham are keen on signing Juventus forward Sebastian Giovinco.
