#10 AC Milan: 263.5 million
Italian side AC Milan's revenue had a €6.6m financial boost which took their revenues to a total of €263.5 million. However, this wasn't as much as the Rossoneri would have anticipated as they dropped two places to the tenth position. They have earned €26.4 million from matchday tickets, €140.9 million from television broadcasting rights and €96.2 million from commercial sources. Even though they were knocked out in the early knockout stages in the UEFA Champions League, the club recieved over €10 million more.
#9 Juventus: 272.4 million
Juventus took over rivals AC Milan and Inter to become the Italian club with the highest revenue. The club's performance in the UEFA Champions League has been the main source of income for the Bianconeri who secured an impressive broadcast revenue growth of €72.4 million (77%) to €166 million. Juventus received the highest distribution from UEFA (almost around €65.3 million) despite losing out in the quarter-finals. Matchday tickets have given them a total of €38 million in revenues, a total increse of 19% from last year.
#8 Arsenal: 284.3 million
The London-based club stands eight in the Money League table as they drop two places after recording revenues of €284.3 million this year; a 4% decrease on the previous year. Matchday revenue seems to be the strongest source of income for Arsenal as they grossed €108.3 million, the fourth highest of any MoneyLeague club.
#7 Chelsea: 303.4 million
After a major decline in revenues, Chelsea have dropped down two places to the seventh. Their commercial revenue had an increment of 19% owning to their new partners such as Delta and Gazprom, and also their new shirt sponsorship deal with Samsung. Their matchday revenue has experienced a 9% dent as well with their average home league match attendance accounting upto 41,462 last season.
#6 Manchester City: 316.2 million
Sheikh Mansour's Manchester City stands 6th in the money league with their turnover increasing rapidly each year. City's agreement with Etihad Airways is perhaps the club's biggest source of income. They have grossed around €46.2 million from matchday revenue, which is quite less in comparison to the other big clubs. However, plans to increase the capacity of the Etihad Stadium by around 12,000 seats can offer the club more revenue in the upcoming seasons.
#5 Paris Saint-Germain: 398.8 million
With a record turnover of around €398.8 million, Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain are the first club to join the top-five list since Arsenal back in 2006. Their main source of income is the Qatar Sports Investments which has seen the club go through a incredible 82% increment in commercial revenue growth. Their partneships with shirt sponsor Emirates and kit sponsor Nike, Qatar Tourism, Panasonic, McDonalds, Ooredoo and Microsoft has done wonders for the club's financial stature.
#4 Manchester United: 423.8 million
Manchester United's 13% revenue growth still came short as they Red Devils drop a spot down. The club's commercial revenue has seen a 30% increment from previous year, and the club’s average home league match attendance of 75,530 helped them earn €127.3 million just from match day revenue. Their world-record sponsorship deal with General Motors Chevrolet and Nike will makes sure that the club doesn't fall very behind in the money league table for the upcoming season because of their poor performance this season.
#3 Bayern Munich: 431.2 million
Bayern Munich took over Manchester United's third spot in the money league table as they enjoy their highest rank in 11 years, all thanks to their treble winning season. Their overrall revenue has grown by 17%. Their average matchday revenue per match of €3.4 m is more than any other Bundesliga team which directly increases their matchday revenue to €87.1 million.
#2 FC Barcelona: 482.6 million
Second in the money table fort he fifth successive year, Barcelona have collected a total revenue of € 482.6 million. Their commercial revenue fell down by 3% as they were not able to qualify for both the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup like they had in the previous year. Their matchday revenue has increased by €1.3m. This is more likely to increase given the Board's plan to increase the seating capacity of Camp Nou.
#1 Real Madrid: 518.9 million
Real Madrid are the richest club for the ninth consecutive year, a record in its own. Their commercial revenue has increased upto a €7.8m (4%) owning to their globally spread market. Their broadcast revenue has increased by €5.7m (3%) to €188.3m, the highest in all of Europe. However, their matchday revenue fell by €7.2m (6%) to €119m. The Board certainly has plans to tackle this issue given their unveiling of a £330m redesign plan they hope will turn the Bernabeu into the best stadium in the world.
