Numerous drivers have made and broken records in Formula 1 since the sports inception in 1950. While some records have been broken after a gap of a few years others have stood the test of time. Here are some of the best F1 records.
#1 Total Entries & Total Starts
Rubens Barrichello
Barrichello, who was without a doubt one of the most dependable and consistent Formula 1 drivers, holds the record for the highest entries in F1 history with 326 along with the record for the highest starts with 322. These two records are unlikely to be broken anytime soon. The driver closest to breaking them is Jenson Button who has 257 entries and 255 starts.
#2 Youngest Driver To Start A Race
Jaime Alguersuari
The Spaniard became the Formula 1’s youngest ever driver when he debuted for Toro Rosso at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2009. Alguersuari also became the first driver born in the 1990’s to compete in the competition.
#3 Oldest Driver To Enter & Start A Race
Louis Chiron
Louis Chiron of Monaco became the oldest driver in F1 history when he competed in the 1958 Monaco Grand Prix when he was 58 years and 288 days old. This record is unlikely to be broken as F1 teams prefer young blood. No driver since 1959 has been over 50 years of age.
#4 Total Wins
Michael Schumacher
Did you really expect anybody else to hold this record? The iconic German was untouchable during his days with Ferrari and won 91 of his 308 races. Sebastian Vettel has a chance of breaking his compatriot’s record but the Red Bull driver has a long way to go as he has only won 39.
#5 Most Wins In A Season
Michael Schumacher
Once again did you really expect anyone else to hold this record? Schumi won 13 of his 18 races in the 2004 season, a record that is still to be broken. Sebastian Vettel came close to breaking it last season as he won 13 of his 19 races but is yet to succeed.
#6 Most Consecutive Wins

The young German holds the record for the most consecutive wins in a season with 9 in 2013. Lewis Hamilton had a chance of breaking his record this year but the Brit won just 4 consecutive races.
#7 Most Wins In Debut Season
Jacques Villeneuve
Canadian driver Jacques Villeneuve holds the record for the most wins in a debut season having won 4 of his races in 1996 while driving for Williams. No other driver besides Lewis Hamilton has won 4 races in a debut season.
#8 Youngest Ever Winner
Sebastian Vettel
Besides being F1’s youngest ever Champion, Sebastian Vettel is also the youngest ever winner. The German created the record when he won the 2008 Italian Grand Prix when he was 21 years and 73 days old.
#9 Oldest Ever Winner
Luigi Fagioli
Italian driver Luigi Fagioli holds the record for being the competitions oldest ever winner. Fagioli created the record when he won the 1951 French Grand Prix when he was 53 years and 22 days while racing for Alfa Romeo.
#10 Most Consecutive Wins At The Same Grand Prix
Ayrton Senna
Legendary racer Ayrton Senna holds the record for the most consecutive wins at the same Grand Prix. The iconic Brazilian won the Monaco Grand Prix(which was also his favourite Grand Prix) a record 5 times in a row.
