Not only is Pyramid Head a great and terrifying villain - he's the reason for the main character's regret over his actions and his ultimate desire for punishment. But more importantly, he's a pretty cool looking bad guy who truly inspires fear whenever there's even a hint of his presence in the game.
Their entire existence is unsettling and surreal. The most scary thing about them is their unpredictable nature. Sometimes they’ll hunt you, sometimes they won’t and sometimes they just commit suicide. This makes them more interesting.
#9 Vizier
Do you remember that cunning sneaky guy from Prince of Persia: Sands of Time? The game re-booted the series and is considered as one of the most successful franchise over the world. In the game, a character named Vizier tricks the King to unlock the sands of time which will bring wrath.
While prince managed to kill Vizier in the first part but he returns again in “The Two Thrones” because the history changes due to the events of “The Warrior Within”. Vizier’s greedy and merciless character makes him one of the best villians of all time.
#8 Bowser
Next on our list is Bowser from the Super Mario Bros. He's tried kidnapping all princesses, Mario, and pretty much whatever else he can find lying around in his attempts to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond.
He doesn't take it personally when Mario dunks him in lava - or when Mario does it again to his skeleton. Hell, Mario's murdered his kids and countless troops of his, and he still keeps a positive attitude and doesn't hold a grudge. Classy guy he is.
#7 The Lich King
Sitting atop the mighty frozen throne, he commands the Scourge and stands as a force so evil and twisted, that the Alliance and the Horde lands were united against him. Wielding Frostmourne, the Lich King battle is one of the defining moments in WoW history.
To say, World of Warcraft is not the same as it once was, but still it has got the X-factor to make it one of the successful MMO to be played around the world and the “World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King” is the best installment of the series to come out over a long time.
#6 Alduin
Skyrim is the best installment of the “Elder Scrolls” series. This game brought the Dragons along with it. The game’s plot was very immersive and also the character development along the game was amazing. In the game, Aduin is the dragon which you have to kill in order to finish the game.
The design of Alduin and the voice of the dragon was really imprsessive which made Skyrim the best RPG of 2012. During the course of the game you being the “Dragonborn”, prophersized as being the only one to kill Alduin, will learn the “Dragon shouts” which will help you in defeating Alduin.
#5 Albert Wesker
If there was no Albert Wesker, then surely there wouldn’t have been a Resident Evil franchise. The twists and turns brought by Wesker were very unexpected and at the same time were fun to play. The most unexpected appearance of Wesker was in Resident Evil 5, where Chris finds him at Africa.
NOTE: The Alber Wesker in the game is not the person that they show in the movies. In the game, he looks as dumb as he looks in the movies. The Wesker in the game is infinitely more deadlier and cruel than the dumb guy that they show in the movies
#4 Vaas Montenegro
In the Far Cry series, Vaas rules over all the bad guys till date. He is the definition of insanity and psycopath. And his defintion of “insanity” is the best dialogue I’ve ever heard in video games.

In Mortal Kombat, this is the fighter against whom you don’t want to play. Shao Kahn is a boss, announcer, and recurring playable character from the Mortal Kombat series. He also wants to conquer all the regions of the MK universe and collide it with the present day Earth.
He is one of Mortal Kombat's most difficult villains. He is well noted as a difficult boss, and the publications and critics have also praised his design, in-game abilities, and mannerisms--particularly his talent of mocking and taunting players.
#2 Ares
The God of War wouldn’t have been so successful if it wasn’t for Ares. He was the one because of whom our Kratos lost his family, and to avenge this, Kratos sets out on his deadly journey. Sony studios really crafted Ares well.
The way Ares tricked Kratos, no one would have figured until they actually played and what follows is the bloody and violent journey of Kratos to kill the real God of War to avenge his family’s death. Ares also remains as one of the toughest villains to kill.
#1 The Joker
This guy is the most ruthless and notorious. He doesn’t care about anyone. There’s only one word in the dictionary to define this character, “Psycho”. When Rocksteady studios revealed the trailer of the first game of the Arkham series “Batman Arkham Asylum”, everyone’s reaction after seeing “The Joker” was jaw dropping. As in the comics, The Joker remains the most cunning arch enemy of Batman, and challenges him at various instances of his life. And in the game, Joker doesn’t disappoint us.
Throughout the game, he constantly keeps on mocking Batman and the climax fight between The Joker and the Batman is epic in all the three games of the series. His cunning mind and his ruthlesness along with the “smile” on his face makes him the most amazing antagonist ever.
