Call Of Duty is one of the leading video-game franchises when it comes to first person shooting warfare genre. We all know how sucessful these games are, but somehow the interest in the latest COD games have not been that great. Reason for this is the gamers are starting to feel COD games to be predictable over the years. The zombie mode has also received a not so good response for being boring. So in order to overcome these issues, the series should try to include more and more mini games to each title to spice up a bit. Even though the latest Advanced Warfare looks to be promising, here are some of the ideas that Activision and Treyarch can try to incorporate to make the gaming experience better :
#9 Graphics Could Have Been Better

Last year’s Ghost was a major setback in the Graphics aspect. Advanced Warfare had some pretty good graphics by employing sharper textures, fancy motion blur and impressive facial animation in the new-gen consoles. Still there were some minor defects in the visual aspect, especially in some up-close textures and the objects with texts on it.
As gamers spend some serious bucks on the new console they obviously expect the visuals to be the best. So lets hope the next game will be better in it.
#8 Bigger Maps
With the addition of the “Exosuit” in the latest AW, you can fly around. But if you have tried, you must have encountered a warning message “Out of Bound” ,this is because you’re trying to fly too high, all thanks to the small maps in the game. The amazing concept of Exosuit is being spoilt by this ratherly very dissapointing small maps.
Above is an relative illustration of CoD’s maps with an the other rival game. Hope the developers will look into this soon enough.
#7 Anything but \"Zombies\"
We should all accept that CoD: World at War was succesful because of its Zombie inclusion. Now it seems to be re-appearin AW as a special bonus round in Exo-Survival mode, with a full-on Zombie game set to appear in DLC, But now the gamers are done with Zombie killing and it seems a little outdated.
Games like The Walking Dead and The Last Of Us contained zombies as an integral part of its storyline and it was bearable. When it comes to CoD, we expect something more. So its high time for the developers to replace zombies with....anything else.
#6 Get More Of Hollywood
As stars Gary Oldman, Kiefer Sutherland, Sam Worthington, Kevin Spacey were a part of the CoD games, the Hollywood connection seemed to be an additional gift to the gamers. Even the live-action trailers that included celebrities Jonah Hill, Megan Fox, Taylor Kitsch etc seemed to work.
The inclusion of Kevin Spacey in AW was phenomenal, as it was not only his voice work but also a full-on performance capture, creating one of the most believable characters in the entire CoD franchise. So fans do expect such collaborations.
#5 A longer campaign mode
With Sledge hammer involved we expected a lot of improvements in the campaign mode of AW than previous years’s Ghost, and it was a good one indeed. But it only only lasted for a mere 6 hours or so. It clearly shows the developers negligence over the Single players mode, as most of them are playing online multiplayer.
This is one of the major issue which Sledgehammer has to consider and build properly paced intensed storylined journey rather than a flashy one.
#4 Develop only for New-gen consoles and PC
This maybe harsh on the people with last gen consoles, but we have to accept that for a good gaming experience, a good piece of hardware is required. So for better graphics and gameplay mechanics, new-gen consoles are reqiured. In order to encourage progress and franchise innovation, the developers have to start exclusively developing for Xbox,PS4 and PC.
This may take a toll on their sales, as there are still many people using the older consoles. So the publishers should make a strong decisions to develop only for the newer ones.
#3 Dedicated severs for each Platform
One of the biggest issues with Call Of Duty’s Multiplayer is the peer-to-peer matchmaking which is really disappointing with such a hit game. Dedicated Servers are the only path to fix this problem and the early COD games smartly made use of them, presenting players with a server list. It was more fun than new ones. Though Activision has promised that they will make fair use of Dedicated servers, we will see what happens in COD Black Ops 3. For this issue in AW, the developers have promised some patches later this month .
#2 Remastering of Classic Maps
We all know how Halo: The Master Chief Collection made use of the concept of remastering the old maps and incorporating in the newer versions of the game which turned out to be sucessful. Activision should also follow this and try to bring back some of the classic maps like the Shipment, Terminal, Estate, Bog, Underground. Imagine how these maps would look with better graphics and new in-game features.
So if the developers can roll out a package of some Classic HD playlist in a form of DLC, then that would be great. True fans would not mind spending for that!!
#1 32-Player Multiplayer
Low player loads has been the major concern for all the COD players. It was expected that atleast in AW, we could expect 32-player multiplayer. But it seemed to have only 12 players in major match-types. However, the max number of players is 18 that too only for Ground War.
CoD’s major competition Battlefield boasts of epic 64-player battles. This has been a major setback for Activision. Considering the pace of CoD atleast a 32-player mode should be incorporated for a good online playing experience. Frankly speaking, this issue had to be looked into many years ago.
