FIFA 15 - Best right backs

As the game is making headlines since its release, we decided to help the fans identify the best right backs in FIFA 15 just like how we helped you figure out the best young players in career mode. Since Phillip Lahm is playing as a CDM predominently these days (is listed the same in the game too), we have decided to exclude him from this list.

#10 Joao Pereira (Valencia)

Joao Pereira with a rating of 79 is the first name on this list. The portuguese international has represented his country more than 40 times including the World Cup this year and is regarded as one of the best right backs in Europe. Having plied his trade in some of the top clubs in his native country, Pereira moved to Valencia a couple of years ago. He is 30 years old in the game and can give you three solid seasons.

#9 Juanfran (Atletico Madrid)

29 year old Spanish defender Juanfran comes in next with the same rating of 79. The former Real Madrid player had a successful spell with Osasuna and is currently playing for Real’s rivals Atletico Madrid with whom he won the league title last season. He can improve a little bit more in career mode in his first two seasons even though his rating is predicted to remain the same.

#8 Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid)

Real Madrid’s young sensation Dani Carvajal makes the cut ahead of his more experienced teammate Alvaro Arbeloa despite both being rated 79 in FIFA 15. Since Dani is much younger, he will continue growing in the game and has a potential of 83, whereas that isn’t the case with Arbeloa.

#7 Andoni Iraola (Athletic Bilbao)

The Spanish domination continues in this list as Athletic Bilbao’s Andoni Iraola comes in at number 7 with a rating of 80. But since he is already 32 years old, he is not expected to grow further, but if you are managing a team with a low budget, you can then tempt him to join you and fix that spot on a temporary basis with a classy player.

#6 Bacary Sagna (Manchester City)

Bacary Sagna moved this season from Arsenal after spending seven years with the North London club to Premier league rivals Manchester City. The 31 year will find it difficult to dislodge their first choice RB Pablo Zabaleta, so you have to manage both carefully if you pick City to play with. He is rated 80 in the game.

#5 Mathieu Debuchy (Arsenal)

Next comes the man who has replaced Sagna in Arsenal’s squad. Mathieu Debuchy has some premier league experience as he was one of the several French players playing for Newcastle United in 2013. He is rated 80 in the game and since he is already 29, he won’t be improving further unless you have a terrific season with him.

#4 Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)

Chelsea’s Serbian beast, Branislav Ivanovic is the game’s fourth best right back. But how long can he sustain at this level in FIFA 15 is the big question as he is already 30 years old which looks like the average age for most of the players on this list. He is rated 81 after a decent season last time around.

#3 ukasz Piszczek (Borussia Dortmund)

Polish right back Lukasz Piszczek is at number 3 with a rating of 82. The 29 year old who is currently Dortmund’s first choice RB was not new to the league when he signed for them in 2010 as he had already played for Hertha BSC. He too is predicted to remain at 82 and start to decline in a couple of seasons in career mode.

#2 Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City)

The second player from Manchester City to feature on this list. Pablo Zabaleta was an absolute rock for Argentina in the World Cup and was intrumental in City winning the league last season. He is rated 82 in the game, but you might have to splash a lot of cash to lure him away from Etihad.

#1 Dani Alves (Barcelona)

Its hard to argue about the fact that Dani Alves has been a top class player over the years in his position, but it is highly debatable whether he deserves the title of being the best right back in FIFA 15 after putting up some not so impressive performances for both club and country in the past few months. He is rated 83 and is already 31 years old, so he will be going only in one direction if picked in career mode.
