Rockstar Games’ new entry into the gaming world is Grand Theft Auto V. This game was released back in September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was re-released for next gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One earlier this month. For PC fans, this game is scheduled to release for Microsoft Windows on 27 January 2015. There are three main protagonists in GTA V, Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Philips. Michael lives under Witness Protection in Los Angeles. Trevor Philips was Michael’s accomplice in his previous bank robbery in Ludendorff. Franklin Clinton and Michael joins together to pull off a jewelry shop heist to pay their debt. These three join after this heist, and performs a series of operations in this game. GTA V garnered postive reviews for its multiple protagonist design, open-ended gameplay and technical advancements. Even though many reviewers labelled this game inherently violent and misogynistic, Grand Theft Auto V broke industry sales records and became the fastest-selling entertainment product in history, earning US $800 million in its first day and US $1 billion in its first three days. Many might have heard about higher-resolution textures and the new perspective in this game, but you might have missed even some finer details. Hidden around the San Andreas, are 27 pieces of peyote plants, which causes you to hallucinate. Each hallucination changes you into different animals or birds, which appears to be random based on the area you find the peyote. You can become a pig, a cow, a pigeon, a deer, a cat, a hawk, a chicken or any one of dog breeds.
But be warned, each peyote is like a collectible, it can be used only once and if you die during your hallucination, you will turn back into human. This Easter Egg is found only for the new Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. The picture above shows how the Peyote plant looks like.
#2 Single-Player DLC could be released soon
Everyone might have noticed that, Los Santos and Blaine County have so many locations that haven’t been put to substantial use yet. Like, the stadium or the prison or the subway system or the Vinewood Bowl or the living ocean.
The locations show that the game developers Rockstar might have an idea for a future DLC mission using these places.
If you remember in GTA IV, the Lost and Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony expansions lasted minimum 8 to 10 hours of gameplay and gave players more angles on GTA IV’s familiar streets. So, many can expect that a single-player DLC could be released sooner.
#3 Brutal First Person Combat
First person Combat in GTA V can be really brutal at sometimes. Gunshots and explosions will envelop more of your vision, but some intimate methods of fighting are more gruesome.
Picking up a fight and beating the hell out of a person in Grand Theft Auto series is what every fan would try first after starting the game. Having a fist-to-face match against some random guy will surely make the game more interesting. But in this GTA V, these fights are very brutal and callous.
#4 Explosion and Damage Are Stunningly Detailed
Rockstar likes to give their players the realistic touch of an explosion or damage or mayhem. The graphics look very stunning in those situations. All the minute details are classified perfectly. The details look sharp in every sequences.
Like for instance, the bullets tear metal more realistically, the windshields cave-in with incredible realism and bullets leaving bleeding holes in the player is just tip off the hat. These finer details to every actions makes this game more interesting to play.
#5 Animals look more realistic
Yes, around the San andreas you can find cat or dog breeds or many domestic animals. These animals look more realistic in the game, even their fur coating is very life-like. The most impressive thing here is the authenticity of the animals look being achieved in an open-world.
Surely, many would not have seen this virtual hair in animals this realistic in any other video games.
#6 6-Axis Steering Returns for PS4
Many would have missed this boat the first time around on PS3, but it can be steered again using the gyroscopic controls in PS4. The PS4 version of Grand Theft Auto V utilizes the Dualshock 4’s six-axis motion controls for vehicular piloting.
This PS4 version of the game will surely be the ultimate console for GTA gameplay addiction.
#7 Kill A Shark With A Knife
You can kill a Shark in this game using only a knife. But it’s easier said than done.
While the restricted vision certainly makes things more realistic in the underwater, this challenge will be very hard. Going from toe to tail against a shark was hard enough in third person, but trying to keep the sharks in your line of sight is really hard.
Since hungry sharks tend to attack us from behind. But, if you could manage this, then you can very well try to kill the shark using your knife.
#8 Complete first-person perspective
GTA V offers the most complete first-person perspective in gaming. Over 3,000 new animations in the game makes us feel that we are there in the game. Like, the Michael’s cigar which sticks out in front of you as he puffs smoke between sips of scotch on the couch, or the arms which flings onscreen when you’re throwing a grenade. These little implication of details makes you feel the game more realistic when playing.
And the First Person Perspective is highly customizable. The first and third-person hybridization takes this game to whole new level. While driving a car you are experiencing the first person while, taking cover can automatically change you to third-person.
You can drive in first, perform running and gunning in third-person, all these combinations are yours for the contextual tinkering. The player’s field of view can be easily manipulated, narrowing or widening your peripheral vision.
Rockstar are surely bringing a PC degree of customization to consoles, on the way setting higher bar for PC versions of this game.
