Buzzards will be flying over their careers if Creative doesn‘t come up with something soonWhat will WWE do with these superstars? So much is made about the lack of talent on the current roster, the injuries that plague booking and the missed opportunities to see stars shine through and forge a new identity in WWE.Now is the chance to make everything right. Now is the chance to make these superstars better than they are. Yes, some are in the best place in terms of star power. Others need a healthy push. With the need for more compelling storylines and the hope of bigger and better feuds, these five WWE superstars could make 2016 their launching pad to more success. After being miscast or misused, they have a chance to show just how great they really are.
#5 Titus O\'Neill
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
There is something about O’Neill that screams dominant athlete, but he is booked as a mid-carder, which destroys any chance he has in WWE. O’Neill has a great look, is a thick-muscled stud who should be doing more with his talent. Yes, he has been buried in the tag team division, but others have overcome that obstacle before.
O’Neill should at least be competing against the likes of Rusev and Alberto Del Rio. Vince McMahon has preached for decades how he likes power wrestlers and big athletes. He is missing the boat on this one.
#4 Kevin Owens
Owens has openly discussed wanting to face Undertaker and Brock Lesnar. While he has had some solid feuds in WWE since being called up to the main roster, losing the Intercontinental Title might have stalled him a bit. There is talk he will be AJ Styles’ opponent at WrestleMania 32, which should be a solid match for both competitors, but the idea of Styles losing in his first WrestleMania event isn’t fathomable.
Owens needs another dominant performance in the ring. Neville looked to be the sacrificial lamb, but that run was never given much steam. Hopefully, WWE will figure this out. He is too talented to be wasted like this.
#3 Cody Rhodes
Maybe the most miscast wrestler in the company. Oh, I doubt seriously this is what Dusty Rhodes envisioned for his youngest son when he came to the company. The Stardust character lost steam and now it appears the idea will vanish into thin air. Rhodes was a solid tag team champion and had a nice run as the Intercontinental Champion.
His feud with Damien Sandow (who could also make this list) was epic and then it was interrupted. If Rhodes finds a solid tag team partner (R-Truth) then maybe he gains some momentum in 2016.
#2 Dean Ambrose
He is in the main event at Fastlane, but we all know the Intercontinental Champion will lose in the Triple Threat match with Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. The idea to put the strap on the Lunatic Fringe was a great idea and his run with Kevin Owens was solid. It needed more time to develop. Who steps up now?
AJ Styles would be the guy I want to see staring across the ring, but WWE probably won’t make that kind of thing happen anytime soon. If Samoa Joe is called up after WrestleMania, would the company entertain the idea of a feud between these two? I sure hope so. Alberto Del Rio wouldn’t be a bad choice, either.
#1 Bray Wyatt
He is such a great character, I hate seeing that the company is wasting his talent. Yes, a match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania might be the best segment of the night. And as the leader of the Wyatt Family, there isn’t another performer who can bring the masses to their feet.
Wyatt is old school and new school all in one. At some point, the company has to make the decision to put him in title contention. I think a run as the company champion would do more to solidify him as the top heel. It may be a case, also, where a run as a babyface is warranted.
