Known to be the world's fastest ratified marathon course, the Berlin Marthon was first held in 1974. But the race in its current form (after the demolition of the Berlin Wall) first took place in 1990. This marathon takes place on the last weekend of September every year. It starts and finishes near the Brandenburg Gate.
