While everyone keeps talking about Liverpool's attack and the dymanic duo that is Suarez and Sturridge. We must also remember that goalkeepers are just as important in helping teams not only stay in the game but often they single handedly win games for their clubs. One mistake by the goalkeepers and there can be no redemption, it's a tough job but someone has got to do it. Here we have a list of 5 goalkeepers who could win the Golden Glove (Keeper with most clean sheets in the season) in the EPL.
#1 Wojciech Szczesny
With Arsenal close to the top of the league, it is no surprise that their goalkeeper is in the list with most clean sheets. Currently leading the league with 12 clean sheets, the 23 year old Polish international has been in brilliant form for Arsenal. They still have to face Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton and Tottenham but barring these four games, Wojciech could actually add to his clean sheet tally easily and win the glove for himself.
#2 Petr Cech
You know a Jose Mourinho side by the defensive aspect and that has been stamped on his Chelsea side again. They have the best defense in the league conceding only 21 goals in 27 games, Cech also has 12 clean sheets like his Arsenal counterpart. They only have to face Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool among the hard teams and Cech could win the Golden Glove again this season. If it happens this would be the thrid time he would win the Glove, he did it 2004-05 and 2009-10.
#3 Hugo Lloris
Spurs have been rejuvinated under Tim Sherwood and all their players are doing well, ok so the loss to Norwich was a blip. Hugo Lloris has been magnificent between the sticks for Spurs, he replaced Brad Friedel as Spurs' no. 1 goalkeeper in 2012 and has not looked back. He currently has 11 clean sheets to his name and is only 1 behind the top of the clean sheet table. The toughest set of teams that Spurs would face till the end of the season are Liverpool Chelsea and Arsenal, who knows? If Spurs continue their form under Sherwood, Hugo could well win the Golden Glove.
#4 John Ruddy
There always has to be a dark horse in every race and the 27 year old Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy is the one for the Golden Glove race. Norwich are in 14th position in the league and are just 4 points above the relegation zone. Had it not been for Ruddy and his 10 clean sheets it could have been much worse for Norwich. They still have to face Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, it could be a hard season end for Norwich and they would need Ruddy to be in the form he has shown all season to survive the drop.
#5 Tim Howard
The Everton goalkeeper may be 34 years old but that experience is invaluable to a goalkeeper and he has proven his worth to his team time and time again this season. Everton have the 2nd best defense in the league tied with Manchester City and Arsenal. With 9 clean sheets to his name and only Arsenal and Manchester United amongst the tough fixtures which Everton face till the end of the season, we may see the American win the Golden Glove.
