WWE passed another week on the road to WrestleMania and the rumors mills were stronger than ever. The leaks of Seth Rollins was making headlines all over mainstream media since it came right after Hunter’s controversial claim on Chyna, WWE attracted a lot of heat.Apart from the double standard accusations, the company had a handful of other headache from the speculation mill. John Cena’s physical condition and Steve Austin’s wrestling future were among those headaches. Amidst all these, a major UFC star’s wish to be in the WWE programming served as a positive note. With just one week away from the inaugural Fast Lane pay-per-view, here is a look at the top rumors of the day and their possible impact on the WWE product.

#5 Steve Austin not returning at WrestleMania 31 or 32

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

The fans have been calling for one more match from Steve Austin for quite some time now. Though Austin did not officially make any claim about the same, there were rumors of him appearing at either WrestleMania 31 or WrestleMania 32.

However, all the dream castles came crashing down thanks to the new speculation that broke out this week. It suggested that the Texas Rattle Snake is done with his Wrestling career and has no intention of wrestling again.

This is a big blow for all the fans who wanted to see the dream showdown between John Cena and Austin. The decision might change between now and then but as far as fans are concerned, they are hoping to see another one from Austin.

#4 Chael Sonnen looking for WWE role

After wrapping up his UFC career, Chael Sonnen is looking to jump ships to WWE. Sonnen, who is known for this trash talking antics wants to be an announcer in the WWE and is eager to open negotiations with Vince McMahon’s promotion.

Though the initial reports suggested that Sonnen wanted to be a wrestler, however it apparently went nowhere forcing him to rethink about his career direction. He is scheduled to attend the Hall of Fame Ceremony this year and he will have a meeting with Kevin Dunn.

Sonnen will be entertaining on the microphone to be frank and along with that, having a draw like Sonnen in the announcing team right after WrestleMania will be a great move for the company as well.

#3 Triple H wants Hispanic star

After the departure of Alberto Del Rio, Triple H has been in the hunt for another top Hispanic superstar. Rey Mysterio’s run in the WWE looks all set to come to an end and he might well be on his way to Lucha Underground just like Del Rio.

Once Rey leaves, the company will be left without a superstar who will appeal to the Hispanic fan base. Apparently Hunter is looking for a good physique wrestler like Del Rio rather than a masked Luchador like Mysterio.

They do have Kalisto to replace Mysterio but what they are desperate for is a replacement for Del Rio. NXT currently doesn’t have anyone eligible meaning that the company needs to sign someone new.

#2 Kevin Nash into Hall of fame

Kevin Nash looks all set to be inducted into the 2015 class of Hall of Fame. The former WCW World Champion was left out of the illustrious status thus far and this might change on the night before WrestleMania 31.

Nash’s long term friend and NWo teammate Scott Hall was inducted last year and it is only be fitting to let Nash do the same this time around. Apart from Nash, WWE is thinking about inducting Ivan Koloff as well.

So far, the current class consists of Macho Man Randy Savage, Rikishi and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Nash’s addition will do nothing on a star quality basis but he deserves to be there.

#1 John Cena might miss Fast Lane

One of the biggest blows that WWE got this week came in form of John Cena. The Cenation leader is apparently suffering from a serious eye injury and he might miss the Fast Lane pay-per-view due to the same.

It was so serious; the company wrote it into the kayfabe storyline so that they could keep Cena away from the WWE programming for some time. Cena might need some time to recover from the injury and if he misses Fast Lane, the company will sweat a bit.

On the other hand, it is a good sign. They could save the Cena – Rusev showdown for WrestleMania where it will matter even more than it already is.
