Top 5 WWE Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 18 January, 2015

Another week was taken away from the road to Royal Rumble as WWE only made baby steps in building up the pay-per-view properly. While all the superstars were scrambling to shine under the spotlight before Rumble, it was a certain Seth Rollins who stood out with his heads high.Mr. Money in the bank curb stomped both his rivals on Monday Night and made is clear that he is a favorite to walk out as champion. That along with all the other developments through the week sparked a lot of speculations in the wrestling world. The rumor mill was chaotic as always so here is a look at the best ones from the lot and their potential impact on the current WWE product.

#5 The reason for Bray Wyatt winning against Dean Ambrose

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

There were a lot of fans out there who wondered about why Dean Ambrose lost cleanly to Bray Wyatt on various occasion. Some suggested that Ambrose doesn’t need any win to be over with the fans but the real reason was the future plans for Bray Wyatt.

If the Undertaker is ready to return to action, Bray is the first choice to face him at WrestleMania. With that said, there is a need to make Bray look good before the show down.

Letting him win clean over Dean Ambrose was among WWE’s plans for the same and if the match between Undertaker and Bray Wyatt is really in the books, we could see Bray being pushed to the moon in the coming weeks.

#4 TNA in touch with Edge

While WWE is plotting their plans to do something spectacular before the WrestleMania period, the other wrestling promotions in the United States are picking up the pace big time.

TNA recently got in touch with Edge about a new deal and though the Rated R superstar was not interested, he might be lured in with the help of Christian and Kurt Angle. Edge was offered the Authority figure role which was earlier filled by Kurt Angle.

Lucha Underground meanwhile has signed former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio and is also looking to bring in Jim Ross. Del Rio is also linked with TNA and all these deals could prove to be costly for WWE at the end of the day.

#3 Undercard matches for Royal Rumble

Apart from the Royal Rumble match and the WWE Championship match the company recently added a bout between Usos and Miz-Mizdow for the tag team title at the pay-per-view.

From the looks of it, they are likely to add two more next week on Raw. First match is rumored to be between Rusev and Ryback while the other will be between Big Show and Roman Reigns.

Since all four men are supposed to be in the Rumble match, they might have to wrestle twice on the night. It does look like a possibility but first of all, the company needs to bring back Ryback in style as he is out of the payroll at the moment even though it’s just kayfabe.

#2 John Cena to win championship at Royal Rumble

You did read that right in case you were wondering. John Cena is currently the favorite to win the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble where he will face Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar with the title on the line.

Cena has been advertised as champion for some of the live shows after the Rumble which further backs up the rumor. Also, Brock Lesnar looks all set to leave for MMA in April which might be the motive for WWE to take the title away from him before WrestleMania.

The Cenation leader winning the title will not be a popular decision at the Rumble but it can open the door for a possible match between Cena and Bryan at WrestleMania which is always good.

#1 WWE returning to TV-14

The entire WWE Universe has been calling for the return of Attitude Era. This desperation saw the first positive reaction when rumor broke out this week about the company going back to TV-14.

Word around the block suggests that Triple H is rooting for the idea while Vince McMahon is shooting it down. Vince wants to keep the product PG due to the sponsors while Hunter sees the TV-14 idea as a way to revive the stale run of WWE.

This might end up like one of those rumors that came for no apparent reasons but if this gets implemented in the long run, then WWE will have some credibility to show the fans instead of giving them wrestling alligators and bulls.
