The busy rumor mill got was dominated by the other promotion in United States this week as TNA found out that Spike TV was pulling the plug on Impact wrestling.Almost all the big speculations that came throughout the week had roots with TNA while others focused on the creative direction that WWE is taking amidst their financial crisis which is blown up to be far bigger than what TNA is going through.Usual suspects like Sting and CM Punk found their place in the mix along with WWEs next pay-per-view outing, SummerSlam. The word around the block might not materialize cent precisely, but here is a look at the best from the lot of this weeks rumors.
#5 TNA going down
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The word chaotic was redefined this week by the Internet after the rumor broke out that Spike TV will not renew their contract with Dixie Carter’s promotion.
It would be a big blow for the entire wrestling business if the whole thing turns out to be what is projecting to be as WWE will be left without any sort of challenge in national television.
TNA might not be getting a Television deal from Spike but apparently their creative team is hitting all the right chords. They have arguably the best tag team division in the business with teams like American Wolves, Team 3D and Hardy Boys in their payroll.
There is a mix of young and established talents as well in the company and TNA folding would only make WWE rich in options. The fans is still hoping for a miracle to happen and the desperation is there to be seen from everyone since the rumor broke out.
#4 Orton getting backstage heat for slow matches with Reigns
Roman Reigns was recognized as the next big thing by the WWE long ago. They’ve been booking him just like that for the past months and his feud with Orton was supposed to do the same.
Orton meanwhile has made it to the dirt sheets for all the bad reasons after the internet went havoc pointing fingers at the viper for hindering Reigns’ growth.
The former world champion was accused of delivering slow matches against Reigns in house shows to make him look bad which if turns out to be true would leave a black mark on his career. Reigns on the other hand would come out looking good for being screwed over.
Ric Flair also was in the mix during the match and could barely live up to the Special guest referee tag that he was given.
#3 Sheamus to drop title against Rusev
The amount of heat that Rusev and Lana get for their Anti – American promos are at its epitome after the MH-17 reference that Lana made in Battleground.
And according to the rumors WWE is all set to take matters to a whole different level by letting Sheamus drop the United States championship to the Bulgarian Brute.
If we go by the rumors, Rusev being the champion would be the biggest insult that the creative team could pull off against a patriotic fan base and would push Rusev further up the ladder.
This is a rumor which could materialize from the looks of it, but will have to wait till SummerSlam gets over where Rusev already has a date with Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter.
#2 Young Bucks and Kevin Steen heading to WWE
WWE snatched two big names in the form of Kenta and Prince Devitt last month and looks all set to add names to that already impressive list.
Young Bucks, who have been a main stay in the independent tag team wrestling teased a potential singing with WWE on their Twitter which has made the internet buzzing and even drawing out dream matches for the duo.
Meanwhile, Kevin Steen is another name closely associated with WWE move. Steen have been on the radar of WWE for a long time now and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he ends up in the NXT roster before this month ends.
With names like Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, Tyson Kidd, Devitt , Kenta and anyone who is coming in, NXT looks set to take over the fan base by giving them pure wrestling.
#1 Sting booked for SummerSlam
One of the biggest mysteries in the wrestling business right now is the status of Sting. One day, people say he is signed with the WWE and next day it’s the same people who say Sting has nothing to do with Vince McMahon’s promotion apart from the video game.
It’s a messy situation to be frank when it comes to Sting debuting in the WWE but SummerSlam might just well be the place where it could happen.
Sting is in town on the SummerSlam weekend and many believe that he will be associated with the show to an extent. He could make a surprise appearance during one of the matches or even pull off his trademark silence act.
Either way, Sting and SummerSlam in the same town opens up the hope fountain for WWE Universe who is more than desperate to see the Icon on a WWE ring.
