Footballers are known to sport quirky hairstyles that make them stand out from the crowd even when they are not on the pitch. We were bored and thought why not swap some of the iconic hairstyles of footballers with others. Could be fun, right? Here is the result of our experiment as we bring you 10 footballers and their look after we swapped their haircut with some of the most distinct ones. Credits to Akshay Das for his brilliant edits!
#1 Lionel Messi
In this edit, we have morphed Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini’s iconic afro into Barcelona forward Lionel Messi. It is time Messi gets a change in haircut anyway.
#2 David Beckham
In this edit, we are not only messing around with the hair but the whole face as we try to morph David Beckham’s face into Roma winger Gervinho’s face. Gervinho’s braids seem to fit the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder quite well!
#3 Wayne Rooney
Neymar’s mohawk was one of the Brazilian’s most noticeable trait just like Wayne Rooney's bald head was once upon a time before the English forward went ahead and got his hair transplant. We try to give him a transplant of our own in this edit.
#4 Andres Iniesta
Andres Iniesta is one of those footballers who prefer to keep it simple when it comes to both football and their hairstyles. French striker Djibril Cisse on the other hand does not.
#5 Gareth Bale
In this edit, we give Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale an old haircut that Argentine forward Carlos Tevez had once sported with all of his pride.
#6 Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Ghanaian international Isaac Vorsah came into the spotlight last year after he had dyed his original dreadlocks with a bright gold colour. We morph his hairstyle into Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s face.
#7 Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo might be the most fashionable footballer in the world, but when it comes to sporting the best hairstyle, Niklas Bendtner can give anyone a run for their money.
#8 Eden Hazard
In this edit, we morph AC Milan star Stephan El Shaarawy’s ever changing spikes into Chelsea winger Eden Hazard. Perhaps this will give the Belgium forward the edge he needs to overtake the likes of Neymar and Ronaldo when it comes to having a following.
#9 Mario Balotelli
It’s not like Mario Balotelli didn’t already have his own share of quirky activities, we give him the pineapple-esque haircut of former English footballer Jason Lee.
#10 Xavi
There are not many blonde players in Barcelona, so we try to change that, giving Xavi Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos’ hairstyle.
