Ryback after his loss. There aren’t many WWE PPVs which you look at and don’t find many glitches. Night of Champions was one such PPV. If a glitch was on its way, it would be countered by something awesome. This PPV will be remembered for the great parts than the not so great. Of course, there were a few things that could have been done in a better way. And those are the limited few that make this list. They can be solved next night on Raw but overall this PPV was the showcase of how well storylines can continue and can be made to continue. Here are the 3 Things That DID NOT work-
#3 Babyface Ryback
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Of course, that just speaks volumes about the man Ryback was about to face. Kevin Owens is a great pro- wrestler. Period. The guy knows to wrestle and can talk. Ryback is the protocol big guy in the WWE.
He can talk but creatively he hasn’t been given much to work with. And that showed in the audience’s reaction towards his arrival and eventual loss. The mostly smart audience at Houston did not really welcome the big guy.
#2 Tag Team Championship match
Surely, this match between the New Day and the Dudley Boyz was exciting and entertaining the moment the Dudleys made a surprise return to the WWE main roster. This was terrific. But their match at NoC left a lot to be desired.
New Day retained their title via disqualification and this match remains the only one that did not live upto the hype. The PPV will be remembered for a lot of things but not this.
#1 Why the pre-show
You know, which tag match should have made it to the main show- the pre show match between the Cosmic Wasteland and Nevile with the Lucha Dragons.
This was a highly entertaining bout which was perfect to start the night with but it should have made and been catered to a larger audience. The Cosmic Wasteland is too good a concept and the attires of all three is something to behold. This tag team can really do wonders.
