Brace yourselfWe are just two weeks away from the seventh edition of the 'Hell in a Cell' Pay-per-view. Heading into the PPV, there are certain questions that need to be addressed and it looks like we will find solutions to some of them at the event. The unpredictability factor is always at play when it comes to predicting PPV results, but there are obviously some key takeaways that one could easily observe. As part of this slideshow, we take a look at 3 things to watch out for at this event-
#3 The reason for the arrival of the Dudley Boys
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
A few weeks ago on RAW, everyone was left in a mark-out state and obviously shocked after the Dudleys made a surprising comeback.
The tag team legends have been competing over the past two weeks on both RAW and SmackDown. Speculations are running wild that the legendary duo will once again win the tag team gold and enjoy one final major run in WWE.
Last month, at the 'Night of Champions' PPV, the Dudley Boys competed against the 'New Day', but the match ended cheaply. As of now, the best tag team on the roster is the 'New Day' and I am not sure if this idea of crowning the Dudleys as the tag Champs could do any good.
Add to that, if they were just brought back for a couple of matches at the PPVs, that would be a strategic mistake as the roster is rich with many emerging tag teams such as the Lucha Dragons, Primetime Players, Ascension, which makes the Dudleys return a needless affair. So, the match between the 'New Day' and Dudley Boys at 'Hell in a Cell' holds some significance and there is a lot of intrigue surrounding the match.
#2 The Kane saga
Before giving any thoughts on this, let me ask you one small question. I don't deny that WWE has now turned PG TV, but I strongly dislike the way in which things are going with Kane.
All the gimmicks that Kane is using today are all from the WWE inventory and everything has been utilised at least once before. It's a known fact that Kane was engaged in this role only on a temporary basis but guess what, even that is not working. If the WWE really want to justify all the story-lines they have been writing for Kane, why not give him a fairly long run as the ‘Demon’?
Instead, you bring him into the title scene and it is as clear as daylight that the chances for Kane becoming the WWE Champion again are very low.
Considering the Sheamus factor, things just get a little more interesting and maybe the 'Celtic Warrior' could eye a possible cash-in. But there is also a catch in this situation. If Kane loses at HIAC, Corporate Kane will no longer be there. So, maybe there could be a disqualification or a cash-in, both the options open for debate. So, that is what makes the contest, somewhat fascinating
After HIAC, it could be Demon Kane or Corporate Kane or no Kane at all. Kane could also surprise everyone and interfere in his ‘brother’s’ match against Lesnar to set up a future clash against his brother of destruction, which is a tantalizing option. Whether the WWE go down that route is to be seen
#1 Is this the time to end the rivalry of the decade?
It is now time for the creative team to decide who is big, rather who is important for business right now; Lesnar or The Undertaker?
The company dealt with a similar scenario a couple of years back when there was an intense rivalry between Triple H and Brock Lesnar. Back then, after the scores were levelled, the WWE Universe wanted a decider, and they got one.
It was Lesnar who got the lead, and the rivalry ended once and for all. A similar situation is at hand right now, and it would be great if WWE gives one man the lead and ends this rivalry a great finish. But do you really think it is that easy to execute? You have two legends at hand and you got to deal with them with utmost care. This is obviously the biggest match of the night and let’s see how the creative plans the finish!
