4 reasons why Ryback needs the Kevin Owens feud to legitimize the Intercontinental title

He has a point to prove

Kevin OwensThe Intercontinental Championship that Ryback won at 2015 Elimination Chamber was his first ever title in the WWE. He had to defeat five other men that night to win the title and since though he had a memorable start, to the reign, it soon cooled down for the worse. Ryback attracted a lot of criticism afterwards and is yet to prove his worth as a champion.Currently, WWE is planning to involve Kevin Owens and Ryback in a feud. This might be the turning point in Ryback’s reign as the Intercontinental Champion. Owens is all set to become the biggest and the best challenger for Ryback and here are the reasons why.

#4 Kevin Owens has a point to prove

He has a point to prove

Kevin Owens started off his main roster run with a bang. He was feuding with John Cena and pushed Cena to the limit on various occasions. However, once the feud with Cena ended, Owens slowly slipped into the midcard and despite the brilliant start; Owens was treated just like all the other midcarders. He was put into random matches and Owens was out of the limelight in no time.

He is getting a chance to steal the show once again and he is unlikely to let it slip by. Owens has a point to prove to the people who are running the show and he is surely going to step down on the throttle for this.

#3 Brilliance of Kevin Owens as a heel

Ryback has shortcomings on the mic

Kevin Owens is arguably one of the best talkers on the current roster. He knows how to play with the crowd and Owens made good use of this ability throughout his feud with John Cena. Owens was easy to hate and if he brings out the same tactics against Ryback, WWE will have an easy job in their hands. Ryback is yet to fully get over as a babyface monster and Owens could get it done in no time.

Ryback is not that good when it comes to cutting promos so there will be some heavy work load on Kevin Owens but he is someone who could pull it off.

#2 The in-ring action

Kevin Owens – Ryback would have interesting in-ring dynamics

If there is anything about Kevin Owens that the WWE Universe loves, it is his in-ring work. He had some immense amount of chemistry with both John Cena and Cesaro throughout last few months. The unique style that Owens brought into the ring worked wonders with both the superstars and it would be interesting to see how it copes with Ryback’s power based wrestling moves.

Owens has a history of working with a variety of opponents during his Independent career and will be aware of the things he should do to make Ryback look good. All he has to do is to deploy them at the right moment.

#1 A serious Challenger

Owens is the first real challenger of Ryback

Ryback is yet to have a serious challenger for his title. Till now, Ryback was feuding with Miz and Big Show. Miz was never taken as a serious threat to the title and Big Show was busy fending off fan chants. The Intercontinental title thus was never the center of attraction. But with Kevin Owens, it will be a different story.

He was able to elevate the United States Championship while he feuded with John Cena and he is going to do the same with Intercontinental Championship and Ryback. Also, there won’t be many fans complaining if Owens walks out as the champion after this feud as he is a better choice than Miz and Big Show.
