5 Busted notorious WWE myths

Not the greatest Wrestlemania moment after all

Who was behind the GTV?Throughout WWE’s illustrious history, there have been numerous speculations and misconceptions that eventually develop into alleged facts. However, a large portion of these fabricated suggestions turn out to be false eventually. We have heard a lot of statistics and feats that have been etched in our minds as the absolute facts of the WWE. But the objective of this slide is to change that.So let’s take a look now at 5 notorious WWE myths that have been busted over the years.

#1 Hogan the first to bodyslam Andre?

Not the greatest Wrestlemania moment after all

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

One of the biggest moments in Wrestlemania history was when Hulk Hogan miraculously body slammed Andre the Giant for presumably the first time ever and then went on to pin him for what was deemed as the Wrestlemania moment. The legacy of Wrestlemania was built on that moment alone.

However, Hogan had actually bodyslammed Andre before Wrestlemania 3 anyways. Not to mention there were others to do it even before Hogan. Harley Race is credited with the earliest bodyslam on Andre the Giant which happened approximately 10 years before WM3.

#2 Hardcore title made from WWE title smashed by Mr Perfect?

The Hardcore championship

The infamous Hardcore title always appeared to resemble a smashed up WWE championship. Rumours began at one point that the original hardcore title was actually made from an old WWE title that Mr Perfect had smashed live on television almost 10 years earlier.

Who knows where all these myths begin, but I actually found this one quite intriguing, although it still seemed extremely far-fetched. Once again, of course, this rumour was obviously not true.

Speaking of the hardcore title, I wonder if WWE will ever decide to bring it back?? We can still dream I guess.

#3 Goldust behind GTV?

The one behind the GTV segment was never revealed

During the Attitude Era, a video segment type thing began called ‘GTV’ which would reveal WWE superstars in shocking and/or embarrassing situations backstage. The video shots soon disappeared randomly still with no explanation.

Many simply assumed that due to the name ‘GTV’, that Goldust was supposed to be the one behind the camera. However it was revealed by Vince Russo that the man behind the videos was actually Tom Green.

#4 Savage gave Hogan a blackeye?

Randy Savage behind the black eye?

Hulk Hogan appeared at Wrestlemania 4 with an unexplained black eye that was briefly revealed (for storyline cover up purposes) as an attack from hired goons allegedly employed by Money Inc.

The most popular rumour that surfaced and began circulating was that the Macho Ma Randy Savage had done the deed. Many surmised that Savage had confronted Hogan over the weekend in regards to their conflicting personal issues and punched him.

However, what actually was a jet ski accident which occurred a few days before Wrestlemania.

#5 Two Ultimate Warriors?

Did Two Ultimate Warriors actually exist?

The myth of two Ultimate Warriors is an infamous one that has no doubt sparked a lot of discussion/controversy among numerous fans.

Origins of the myth ultimately stemmed from alleged comparative differences in appearance over time. However, the idea of WWE being able to cover up the fact there were two different people playing Ultimate Warrior is a little out there.

Tom Phillips recently revealed in a WWE video that this myth was quite ridiculous and indeed a complete fabrication.
