The finishing touches for Summerslam have been applied. Smackdown did not feature many superstars from the most hyped bouts.RomanReigns started and ended the show on a high. Dean Ambrose and Cesaro had another stellar match.Anyway, here are the 5 lessons learnt from this weeks show which also happens to be the final show before Summerslam
#1 AJ will win
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
For the first time since Paige’s heel turn, the exchange between Lee and Paige came out to look entertaining. The 21-year-old again tried to incapacitate AJ, but the divas champion attacked her viciously by ramming her head continuously on the barricade but that did not prevent Lee from getting counted out. And the segment ended with Paige attacking AJ immediately afterwards.
Paige has been getting the better of the champion in all of their interactions. This will either result into a triumphant moment at Summerslam for AJ or Paige skipping her way to a title win. I guess the former sounds much better because Paige needs to get her mocking AJ shtick out of the way and get more serious.
#2 The Reigning Roman Empire
There can be no doubt that Reigns is being touted as the next big thing and his match against Orton is just another match where a veteran in a way passes on the baton to the future of the company.Reigns kicked off Smackdown with The Miz on MIZ TV. It’s great to see Miz back to being a self absorbed heel.
But it was the moment for Reigns to actually prove how much control he has over the crowd. And he did quite well. His match in the main event was also an indication that Summerslam is just the beginning of the Roman Empire.
#3 Dean Ambrose and Cesaro can\'t have a bad match
And so it seems.
Ambrose and Cesaro faced each other for the third time since July. All their match have been nothing short of epic. Two indy darlings gave the match of the night. This has set Cesaro to look awesome even while eventually suffering a loss. And this just establishes the fact that Ambrose is one of the most interesting characters on the roster.
#4 New feud for the Wyatt Family
After having many stellar matches with the Usos, the Wyatt Family had a match against Mark Henry and the Big Show. This actually turned out to look quite entertaining. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are known for their sheer brutality and Henry and Show are known for the exact same thing.
It seemed like the clash of the giants and it did not disappoint. It has the potential to take the tag division by storm. And it certainly has a larger than life aspect to it.
#5 Swagger\'s Moment
On the road to Summerslam both Swagger and Rusev have had enough momentum. But since not coming out victorious aginst the Russian at Money In the bank, Swagger did go into oblivion the very next night until they met again. Since then Swagger has had two very impressive victories against none other than Cesaro.
Such a dominant show only guarantees that Swagger won’t be easy to overcome. And just for that it seems Summerslam will see a victorious Swagger.
