Wrestlemania 31 has now come and gone while surpassing all expectations delivering an entertaining, enthralling show from start to finish. One of the stars of that night was the Viper, Randy Orton, who defeated Seth Rollins in an intriguing high impact match up only hours before Rollins would go on to cash in. Orton now puts his name back into the main event scene and in contention for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. So, let’s take a look now at five potential post-mania feuds for the apex predator Randy Orton.
#1 Roman Reigns
Now that Brock Lesnar is seemingly out of action for the time being, it allows both Randy Orton and Roman Reigns to step up as potential challengers. Therefore they may very likely find themselves battling it out whether in number one contender matches or in triple threats for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Orton and Reigns have had one major singles match in the past at the 2014 Summerslam PPV which saw Reigns defeat a heel Orton. With Orton now working as a face, a possible heel turn from Reigns could create an interesting fresh feud between these two.
#2 Rusev
Following his defeat to John Cena at Wrestlemania 31, Rusev finds himself without much direction. A rematch or two with Cena are bound to happen but after that he will need a new feud to keep his momentum going.
For so long, Rusev relied on his undefeated streak as well as the US championship but he now finds himself without either.
A perfect way for him to stay on top would be to feud with an established veteran (probably a few months down the line). Randy Orton could possibly be that veteran.
Orton v Rusev would be a fresh match up and could serve the perfect way for Rusev to keep his momentum.
#3 Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt will want to keep the momentum he gained from battling The Undertaker but has now feuded with almost all of the top stars in WWE. He has had major feuds with Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose and most recently The Undertaker.
One person he has yet to face though is Randy Orton and a series of bouts between the two would be very infringing and entertaining to watch.
This feud (if it happens soon) would likely be a few months down the road, possibly culminating at this year’s Summerslam event.
#4 Brock Lesnar
A match up many were very interested in seeing was Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton. The bout was in doubt but now that Lesnar has resigned for 3 years the match will almost certainly happen at some point.
Assuming Lesnar doesn’t win the title back in his rematch, he will then need a big feud to follow up with and that feud could involve Randy Orton.
It’s also possible that Orton finds himself in various triple threats (or maybe even fatal four ways) involving Rollins, Lesnar and maybe even Reigns.
#5 Seth Rollins
The most obvious storyline that seems certain to continue immediately is the vipers feud with the new WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins. Boasting a pinfall victory over Rollins at Wrestlemania 31, Orton puts his name into the mix as a potential candidate.
Orton is destined to face Rollins for the title at Extreme Rules and may also find himself in future triple threats bouts (as previously mentioned) including the likes of Roman Reigns. Rollins and Orton delivered a fantastic bout at Wrestlemania and surely have plenty more to offer.
Please feel free to comment below what future feuds you would like to see Randy Orton involved in following Wrestlemania 31.
