5 Reasons why the WWE Divas division is on the uprise

#GiveDivasAChance

Divas revolution going on in the WWEFor far too long, the WWE divas division has been treated poorly. They have been given little to no time to produce an interesting bout, they have been treated as a cool down ‘toilet break’ between big match ups and they simply haven’t been given the respect they truly deserve. But recently, this has all began to change. Slowly but surely, the women of the WWE have begun to be treated seriously and are actually being given a chance to shine. So let’s take a look now at 5 reasons why the divas divisions is on the uprise.

#5 #GiveDivasAChance

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

The #GiveDivasAChance movement is what helped start this entire push for the divas division to be treated better. It was this hashtag that helped open management’s eyes that the divas definitely deserve to be given a proper chance to shine.

The actual hashtag may not be relevant anymore but the strong message behind it most certainly still is.

The impact from the hashtag movement wouldn’t happen straight away, but eventually WWE officials would listen and begin to give the divas division a chance.

#4 More Matches

Multiple Diva matches is a good sign

Another solid sign that the WWE divas division is on the up-rise is the increase of matches. Generally, divas will be lucky enough to have one match on any televised show. However recently, we have seen an increase in the number of matches/segments involving the talented women of WWE per show.

On a recent episode of Raw, there were two women’s matches that featured a large group of talent such as Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Naomi, etc. Furthermore there were other additional segments featuring Lana and Summer Rae, who also both got involved in the main event.

#3 Longer matches

Women finally getting longer matches

Another significant improvement is that not only have there been more matches, but these matches have been given much more time.

One of the biggest criticisms of women’s matches was that they were often only ever given a few minutes which simply wasn’t enough time to produce a compelling bout.

However, this has slowly begun to change as now as even a recent Raw match between Charlotte and Brie was given almost 10 minutes. Hopefully, this trend continues so that the divas are given more and more time to prove that they can put on quality matches.

#2 Fan interest

Team Paige v Team BAD

Another reason why the women may have been held back in the past is partly due to the fans’ perception of them. For so long, fans would dismiss divas bout as a ‘toilet break’, and as a result WWE continued to treat them as such, consistently using them as a cool down bout between main event match ups.

However, fans are now beginning to show interest in women’s wrestling again and luckily WWE officials are starting to pay attention.

Finally, all of this is largely thanks to a certain group of talented female performers.

#1 NXT women

Becky, Bayley, Charlotte, Sasha = A class above

Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Bayley (even though she is still on NXT) have truly revolutionised women’s wrestling.

These four women are extremely talented, super popular and always manage to deliver quality matches that are on par, if not better than, a majority of male matches.

Now with the main roster debuts of Charlotte, Becky and Sasha, joining the talented likes of Paige, Naomi, and Natalya, the divas division is truly in the spotlight and looks to most definitely be headed for a surging uprise.
