5 Reasons why NXT Takeover was the show of the week

TLC airs in less than 48 hours but NXT Takeover- R Evolution has already stamped its authority in the WWE this week. You might have heard a lot of discussions and talks about why NXT is better than the main shows, but none like what is happening this week.Here are five reasons why the NXT fever is higher and delightfully contagious than ever before

#1 Zayn Vs Neville

When the wrestling industry comes out with the top feuds of the year, this feud should be higher up on that list. This has been one exciting journey as these two men dominated and represented the main event picture in NXT.

Zayn is by farthe most popular NXT superstar on the roster and he ahs managed to sustain it throughoutthe year. NXT has been home to the likes of Dean Ambrose, Paige. Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins.

It is now home to Neville and Zayn, who are probably the biggest USPs of the show. All their matches have been brilliant and this leads us to why this week has been special

#2 The main event match

This match is probably the best match NXT has seen like, ever. Why?

Because this is the umpteenth time Zayn has faced Neville for the title. Neville, throughout his title run went from being a face to a heel. Zayn’s frustration seemed to have reached the saturation point a week before Takeover where he slapped the lights out of Neville.

His ever growing popularity and his brilliant in ring skills led many to think that this is his time. And this led to a rabid atmosphere in the arena. It felt like the arena was too small as the crowd was in maximum attendance or so it seemed because more often than not they were on their feet.

The final pinfall had the entire audience rise up in unison to celebrate Zayn’s victory. It was nothing less than a main show PPV reception. It was electric.

#3 The Twist

The end of the match saw Kevin Owen be the first person to hug Zayn. They are known to be great friends and they were fierce rivals in the Independent circuit.

The hug led the audience to cheer more than it was thought possible and then towards the final seconds of the night, Owen went on to attack his friend and deliver a vicious power bomb. The arena was loud and clear just moments ago was left gasping for breath as they couldn’t fathom what had just unravelled.

#4 The Divas Division

And now we come to the Divas Division, which like the main event and the main NXT storyline, has never disappointed on NXT. It is way better than the main roster. It isn’t just a mere opinion, it is a fact.

Charlotte proved that she isn’t the same person she was when she first began her stint on NXT. She’s much confident, much more skilled and much more in tune with her gimmick.

What stood out was that the most underrated diva in the WWE, Sasha Banks, got a chance to show the world what she’s capable of and how dangerous she can be.

Any diva, who comes to NXT will look naturally better than they do on Raw. Such is the scope of this developmental format.

#5 Short and Crisp

The audience should watch NXT more than they watch the main shows. This might never happen, but this show has new superstars and divas, who might never get the same opportunity on the main roster and remain completely un-or-under-utilized.

For example-Prince Devitt debuted as Finn Balor and while his match was nothing special, he was. His character, his makeup, all combined to give him quite a strong presence. And in the wrestling business presence matters more than anything. He’s going to have a good time in NXT. Hope the same can be said about the main roster.

And the commentators actually talk about the match taking place in front of them. They are miles better than the commentary we are used to on the main roster.

The show is shorter than both raw and Smackdown and yet comes out being the best. This shows the amount of talent that McMahon and Co.already have in hand. All they need to do is bring this magic onto the main roster.
