A tribute to the Goat - the Daniel Bryan saga and 3 things he taught me in life

What a night that was! The ‘Yes’ chants almost blew the roof off the arena

Sorrowfully, you will never see this againYesterday was a black day for me. All the hope and energy within me were dead and exhausted. All these days, somewhere deep inside the heart there was a small hope that my all-time favourite wrestler, Daniel Bryan, would get medical clearance and once again walk down that ramp shouting 'Yes... Yes...' and wrestle inside the squared circle. This was until Sunday. Today, things are as clear as daylight and the fact that Daniel Bryan has retired from WWE is a bitter pill to swallow for fans like me. Truth sometimes is bitter and you have to take it whether you like it or not and whether you accept it or not. This was one such instance that establishes the above fact. Daniel is gone now and all I have are his memories. He taught me a lot of things in life. Don't think I am exaggerating something here. This was a totally emotional moment and some things he did in the WWE moved me and that changed my life in many ways. As part of this slideshow, I would like to share 3 of those things that I learnt from Daniel’s WWE experiences with my fellow WWE fans in general and Daniel Bryan fans in particular

#3 Turning his back on the Wyatts

What a night that was! The ‘Yes’ chants almost blew the roof off the arena

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Remember Daniel Bryan joining the Wyatt family? The Wyatts forced Daniel Bryan to join them after weeks of vicious attacks on him. Daniel even fought a couple of matches for the Wyatts. One night on RAW, a match was scheduled between Daniel Bryan, Bray Wyatt and The Usos. This match was inside a steel cage and The Usos emerged victorious.

After the match, Bray asked Daniel to submit and thought of delivering a Sister Abigail to the Goat. But this was the night when the crowd erupted with ‘Yes’ chants and Daniel shed the Wyatt skin.

He not only attacked Wyatt that night but also dealt him an important lesson. It's not about strength but strategy that is important to win in life. Attacking the right opponent on the wrong terrain is same as chasing the wrong target.

He chose the perfect opportunity to teach Bray a lesson. Just when he was isolated by his brothers, Daniel took out his frustrations on him. It's not about how powerful you are it's all about how carefully you plan your attack.

#2 WrestleMania 30 victory

One of the best sights in WWE history

WrestleMania 30 is famous for two things among others- The fall of the 'Dead Man's Streak' and the rise of the 'Goat'. Daniel Bryan became the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and New Orleans was Yessing all night.

It was a great night for Daniel as he overcame three former WWE and World Champions and won the title. This gave me an important lesson in life. At times in life, you need to overcome insurmountable odds to emerge victorious and the ultimate prize can only be won with determination and focus.

Looking at this win though another angle gives us one more lesson. Daniel was actually not at all in the PPV. But he wanted to have a chance at the PPV and launched the "Occupy Raw" movement and earned his opportunity. This tells us that if you believe in your potential and feel that you deserve a chance, do not hesitate to revolt. When the cause is noble, the world will surely watch your back.

#1 Corporate Makeover and SummerSlam victory

Grab a chance and capitalize - The perfect exemplification

Daniel Bryan was chosen as an opponent at SummerSlam 2013 by John Cena. Daniel made a sensation in this match by beating Cena and winning the WWE Championship. This was a remarkable achievement for Bryan as he won over an all-time great wrestler in Cena. In the weeks heading to this match, Vince McMahon asked Bryan to change his attire and tempted him by saying that he would support him if Daniel went through a Corporate Makeover.

Daniel smoothly rejected the offer and instead wore a T-Shirt symbolizing the words- “The Beard is here” with an arrow pointing upwards. What does this tell you? Just be yourself! You may receive some favour from others if you abide by what they say to you but in the process, you should not lose the real you. That is exactly what Daniel did. He refused to shave his beard and went into the PPV with no support from Vince.

In the PPV, he beat Cena clean and fair. This also tells us that we should capitalize on the opportunity that we get rather than asking or chances.

Thank you Daniel Bryan!
