Never know which button he’s going to pressLet's be honest, the Dean Ambrose vs Brock Lesnar booking at Wrestlemania 32 came as a surprise to a lot of Wrestling fans. But did you know that Dean Ambrose has squared off against these seven WWE Superstars in the past? This list may surprise you.
#5 Seth Rollins and Leakee (Roman Reigns)
Can’t wait to see the three former Hounds of Justice face each other? Sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s already happened. The three battled each other inside an FCW ring. Not surprisingly the Triple Threat match was an amazing contest with three exhibiting some fine wrestling moves. Roman Reigns (Billed as Leaki back then) won the match, pinning his “brother” Dean Ambrose. He performed a Samoan Drop on both of them at the same time too! Fun fact- The match was held to determine the Number One Contender for the FCW Heavyweight Championship. Can you guess who that was? It was none other than Lex Kruger( now known as Adam Rose!) Shocking, isn’t it?!
#4 Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro
Dean Ambrose competed in a WWE ring in 2006! As unbelievable as it sounds, it’s true! Back when he was a relatively less known figure, he teamed with with another unknown figure, Brad Taylor to face MNM. Well, he obviously lost this match, but this is valuable trivia none the less. He was a little awkward inside in the ring in this match, but the other two were getting a decent push back then and thus, Ambrose and Taylor had to lose. P.S – Notice the Lunatic Fringe’s hair.
#3 William Regal
Back when Dean Ambrose was at FCW, he had a short feud with WWE legend William Regal. I’m not lying. It all started when Dean Ambrose cut few promos on William Regal and eventually attacked him. William Regal retaliated. Giving rise to a short but feud, but one that really took Dean Ambrose’s career to a whole new level. But was interesting was that William Regal was a huge admirer of Dean Ambrose and heaped praises on Ambrose every time he commentated on a match involving the Lunatic Fringe. They faced each other twice and and both those matches saw an excellent combination of youth, talent, and expierence. Both produced absolute spectacles and Ambrose showed just why the current NXT General Manager admired him so much.
#2 Tommy Dreamer
Dean Ambrose had already wrestled for quite a few wrestling promotions and was already a seasoned wrestler when he arrived at NXT. The Lunatic Fringe went up against the ECW hardcore legend in a Dragon Gate USA ring where he (as Jon Moxley) lost.
#1 Hunico (Sin Cara)
Yeah, Dean Ambrose ( billed as Jon Moxley back then) has faced Sin Cara (billed as Hunico back then.) They both faced each other way back on July 24th 2011 in a FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling) match. Jon Moxley emerged victorious.
