The one dominant criteria to be inducted into the Hall of Fame is that the inductee has to have retired i.e. ceased to perform as a full time employee.Hence, we won’t see them gracing our television screens for a match or Pay Per Views. The Hall Of Fame predominantly has legends who have surpassed the peak of their careers and don’t necessarily have one more match left in them. But there are still some who more or less are capable of having one last great match or a few more matches left in them. Here are 5 WWE Hall Of Famers who can still put on a great match:
#5 Stone Cold Steve Austin
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Yes, he is 50 years old. There have been murmurs about him returning for one more match. But those murmurs have died down after CM Punk left the company. Punk was the man who for years was the guy fans thought would be ideal for Stone Cold to return and begin a storyline. The ingredients were in place. Both of them have the anti-hero vibe, they’re polar opposites when it comes to the subject of alcohol and they’re both legends on the microphone.
Austin may have been rusty if he’d returned or if he ever returns but it seems he would still have got it.
A great match could still be envisioned.
#4 Lita
Lita may never have had a 5 star match but she certainly has ha great matches. Most of them have been with her greatest nemesis- Trish Stratus. There is no doubt about Lita looking as healthy as ever and if the right mix of a female perdormer comes in the way, Lita may just put on her boots for a match but the point is that the womens division is going through a rough time.
There are sparks and a lot of potential but WWE still has to invest a lot more on the tremendous talent they have there in the division. Paige may just be the ideal opponent for Lita.
#3 Trish Stratus
If Lita’s on this list, can Trish be far away. She is great and she looks like she can still work out a pretty good match. She sure has left a lasting impression in the industry given the fact that WWE ruined its division trying to find the next Trish Stratus. She herself started out as knowing nothing about wrestling a match to becoming one of the greatest female wrestler in the WWE.
What if she faces AJ Lee?
#2 Booker T
Booker T looks like he’s in great shape. Period.
He looks like he can still wrestle a match and make it great. WWE never really utilized him to his full potential. But he was still one of the few success stories of guys who jumped ship to WWE after WCW saw its story end. Till now, his only engagement in a match has been a Royal Rumble appearance. Before that it looked like he and Cody Rhodes were onto having a good feud.
That time has now passed. And he’s been doing his part as an on-screen, non-wrestling personality quite well. He’s just been added to the main commentary team on Raw, But he still looks healthy enough to fight a match
#1 Shawn Michaels
He left at the peak of his career, delivering one of the most legendary matches in Wrestlemania and WWE history. He lost to the Undertaker in the main event of the 26th edition of the grandest show of them all.
He has had quite a lot of appearances since retiring, including getting beat up by Brock lesnar, which he sold brilliantly well, delivering Sweet Chin Music to the likes of Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk. But there is no reason not to believe that he still has another 5 star match left in him. Michaels is in that elite category of superstars capable of bringing the best out of anybody and the greatest out of the best. That’s the reason he’s the one and only Mr. Wrestlemania.
