SummerSlam was the best pay-per-view of the year for WWE while Night of Champion fell into an entirely opposite category. With everything from injuries to matches going against their way, the creative messed up the whole show leaving a lot to be done in the next outing. And that next outing would be none other than Hell in a Cell which will take place on October 26, 2014 at Dallas. It’s incredibly hard to predict how the match card would turn out for Hell in a Cell as WWE didn’t answer any question on this week’s Raw.Lesnar wasn’t there to be seen while Rollins turned out to be a most wanted man. Authority has grudges with both Cena and Ambrose and the mid card seems lacking of superstars.Once again, it’s too hard to predict the match card at this point; however, here is a look at some of the matches that could make it.
#6 AJ Lee vs. Paige (Divas Championship)
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
We can’t get enough of AJ Lee and Paige can we? The reason why the company stick with these two divas no matter how many others are on the roster is because, AJ and Paige knows how to carry forward a feud.
It’s been a long feud but there is still a feeling which suggests that they have more to give. The SummerSlam match was a bit limited due to time constraints.
Another match with more time would do wonders for the duo and might give an ending to the feud that it deserves.
WWE should also take special care in finding the next opponent for whoever wins the title if they don’t want to give the fans the impression that there are only two divas in the division.
#5 Rusev vs. Big Show
After taking down Mark Henry, Rusev is almost sure to feel the wrath of Big Show. The World’s largest Athlete was having a successful tag team run alongside Henry when Rusev decided to get in the mix and took out one half of the team.
With such a dominant performance against Henry, WWE needs to present someone who will look like a credible threat to the Bulgarian Brute.
And who better than Show? Getting a win over another former World Champion would be great for Rusev’s rise to the top.
Henry’s fall could be incorporated into a storyline with which Show and Rusev could build something bigger.
#4 Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz (Steel Cage Match for Intercontinental championship)
The feud between Ziggler and Miz is too good to end right now. It saw three title changes so far while the action has been getting better as the feud got older.
One of the most important aspects of the feud has been Damien Sandow. It was his interference that changed the result in the last two cases and with an intention of getting in out of the scenario; WWE could make it a steel cage match.
Ending the feud naturally like this would be more suiting that letting it die out in a weekly episode of Raw after building up this much.
Either Ziggler or Miz could walk away with the title with the Showoff being the favorite as Miz could feud with Sandow even if he doesn’t win.
#3 Sheamus vs. Bray Wyatt (United States Championship)
There are rumors making the rounds suggesting Bray would be paired up with Ziggler with Intercontinental championship as the prize. But if the company wants to put Bray in a midcard title, Sheamus is a better option.
The history that Sheamus and Bray has is not a secret among the fans and Bray has been dropping down the ladder without a credible feud to hold on to.
The duo would make a compelling storyline without any doubt and the battles like Sheamus vs. Rowan and Sheamus vs. Luke Harper would be an add-on bonus.
There aren’t many other options left for Sheamus in the midcard as Cesaro’s course as No. 1 contender is almost over.
#2 Dean Ambrose vs. Randy Orton
It would be tempting to put Ambrose and Rollins in another match at Hell in a Cell, but the wiser move would be to let it wait for a bigger stage.
No matter what the stage is, Ambrose and Rollins is sure to deliver a five star match and Survivor Series would be the ideal pay-per-view to let these two destroy eachother.
This would mean that WWE needs a buffer feud before that and since Ambrose is closely involved with the Authority, Orton could come in as a hurdle to Ambrose’s destination called Seth Rollins.
Ambrose getting a clean win is what needs to be happen, as Orton getting one would do no good for anyone.
#1 John Cena vs. Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar (WWE Championship)
A third match between Cena and Lesnar would be a crowd pulling one as the fans would be aware of the Seth Rollins factor.
At the same time, Rollins is someone who needs to be booked in the main event rather than being stuck in the gap between ‘going to get a push’ and ‘getting a push’.
A high profile match alongside the lights of Lesnar and Cena would do wonders for Rollins as he would be exposed to the mainstream fans.
Also, WWE can unleash Ambrose in anytime to take out Rollins which would build up to their match that could happen at Survivor Series while Cena and Lesnar could settle the title dispute.
