WWE Hell in a Cell 2014: Superstar Ratings

The WWE Universe went into Hell in a Cell expecting a disappointing outing just like Night of Champions but Vince McMahon and his promotion delivered a pleasant surprise for its loyal fans on Sunday night.Though the Dean Ambrose – Seth Rollins one was the only match which looked good heading into the show, almost every other one delivered big time leaving a smile in the face of every fan. They might be split about some decisions that were made but all of it seems to be for the bigger good.It wouldn’t draw any comparisons to SummerSlam, but Hell in a Cell was somewhere near that quality. And here is a look at how the wrestlers faired in the pay-per-view with the Superstar ratings.

#16 AJ Lee 6.5

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

It was one of those nights where the Bellas outclassed a match between AJ Lee and Paige. There was a lack of good old storytelling in this match which cost both the divas. It was a win for AJ nevertheless and she should now look for new opponents as Paige seems to be outdated.

#15 Big Show 6.5

The World’s largest Athlete didn’t have the best booking on Sunday as he submitted to Rusev. Names like Swagger and Big E refused to tap out to the same move during the previous pay-per-views which makes the tap out incident even more embarrassing for the former World Champion.

#14 Brie Bella 7

The match between Bella sisters was expected to be a complete botch fest but it turned out to be an exact opposite. Brie looked brilliant in between the ropes and has built up a credible enough platform from where she could develop her character.

#13 Miz and Mizdow 7

No, this rating does not belong to Miz, it belongs to Mizdow. The guy has been incredibly resourceful of the character he got and selling the moves that were put on Miz was just another way of showing how valuable Sandow is to the roster even if WWE gives him a bad booking.

#12 Sheamus 7

The Celtic Warrior came into the match as a favorite and went out the same as he got an easy one over Miz. However, it wasn’t the winner who stole the show as Sandow once again stole the limelight from the actual match which is something that WWE should address at the earliest.

#11 Nikki Bella 7

With the personal assistant stipulation in place, Nikki was supposed to win the match and the result turned out to be the same. Apart from delivering a solid match with her sister, Nikki now has the time to plot out some evil plans to make her new personal assistant look bad.

#10 The Usos 7

There weren’t much doubt about the quality of match between Usos and Dust Brothers. They are two of the most decorated teams in the division and this meant that the losers would also look good. Usos ended up being no different as they shined even after losing out.

#9 Randy Orton 7

The big face turn that many wanted to see from Orton never came at Hell in a Cell as the company tried to keep it waiting. It as a solid outing for the Viper as expected and the loss would go down as a big blow for someone who was picking up momentum well.

#8 Cesaro 7

Cesaro once again proved to be a talented jobber for a midcard champion at Hell in a Cell. The Swiss Superman was expected to win the title but as always, Cesaro gave out all his heart and ended up looking good even though he didn’t get what he wanted.

#7 Dolph Ziggler 7.5

WWE pulled off a big surprise when they ended the Intercontinental match with just two falls. Many fans wanted to see the match being pushed to the limit but the essence of surprise should be well received and Ziggler deserves a lot of credit for his performance.

#6 Dust Brothers 7.5

The Dust Brothers came into the pay-per-view with the least momentum possible due to the plethora of losses that they were picking up. However, the creepy brothers lived up to the game when it mattered most and walked away with the gold after beating the Usos.

#5 John Cena 7.5

The Cenation leader had a typical outing at Hell in a Cell where he made his usual comeback against Orton to become the No.1 contender. The match felt repetitive due to the number of times that these two have faced and the only thing worth watching would be the confrontations that Lesnar would have with Cena after this.

#4 Rusev 8

Rusev got the biggest win of his career so far at Hell in a Cell when he made Big Show tap out to the accolade. It was a smartly booked match by the creative team and the ending clearly put Rusev over big time and he can now venture bigger things after this win.

#3 Dean Ambrose 8

Ambrose looked like he was going to establish his own legacy inside the Hell. There were a lot of spots during his match which was full of emotions and now, what awaits the fans is the mouthwatering prospect of Bray feuding with Ambrose all the way to Survivor Series or beyond.

#2 Seth Rollins 8

If Rollins had a chance, he would’ve chosen a different way to win against Ambrose rather than getting one with the help of interference. With the win, the angle between Ambrose and Rollins seems to be over and the Architect could now enter a different phase of his career.

#1 Bray Wyatt 8

If there is a poll asking who made the biggest impact at Hell in a Cell, Bray Wyatt is going to end up as the clear winner. His return was not only surprising, but it was also refreshing at the same time. Bray looks like a new man without his family and all those dreams of being a big draw might be coming true after all.
