WWE Monday Night Raw: 11 August 2014 - Superstar Ratings

Amidst all the 9.99 promotions, WWE delivered their last episode of Raw before SummerSlam. Though the conflicts of the midcard and tag team division were expected to be resolved with this outing, the company stuck to the old formula of promoting the matches on the card.John Cena and Brock Lesnar being under the same roof was a refreshing sign for the fans who were desperate to see some friction in that feud. Meanwhile, Stephanie McMahon got her long awaited revenge against Brie Bella after Daniel Bryans wife was arrested at one point in the night. There was also progress in the Seth Rollins Dean Ambrose angle when the lunatic fringe showed how dangerous he could be. Hulk Hogans birthday celebration was made more intriguing with an interweaving storyline. It was not one of those weeks with no flaw by the creative but it was good compared to last week, so here is a look at the superstar ratings.

#15 Eva Marie 3.5

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Eva didn’t have to break a sweat against AJ Lee, but despite this, came out as the winner against the Divas champion. It is a win that would encourage her in the longer run and hopefully WWE would urge Eva to spend some more time training before letting her into the spotlight.

#14 Heath Slater 4

For those who have been missing WWE for the past two weeks, Heath Slater is on a winning streak. I repeat, Heath Slater is on a winning streak. Last week he came above Rollins who is in the World title scene while this week he defeated the No.1 contender for the Intercontinental title.

#13 Sheamus 5

The Celtic Warrior brushed up his rivalry against Randy Orton this week. He was expected to find a new challenger for the US title but something entirely different happened which keeps the status of Sheamus’s SummerSlam appearance in the air.

#12 Cesaro 5

While Slater is on a winning streak, Cesaro apparently is on the other side of the sinking boat. He continued to be a jobber for his former partner and was solid in the ring as one would expect from him. Cesaro looks set to miss SummerSlam this week which will be a big blow.

#11 Brie Bella 6

Brie was bound for utter humiliation as we edged closer to SummerSlam and the same happened thanks to Stephanie McMahon. Brie now has a lot more reasons to put Stephanie into the hospital bed at the pay-per-view which makes her more dangerous.

#10 Jack Swagger 6.5

Swagger faced off against his former tag team partner and came out looking good. The face run and feud with Rusev aided the Real American in keeping the crowd hot. It was a big win for Swagger ahead of SummerSlam where he will try to raise the American flag.

#9 Seth Rollins 7

WWE finally pulled off the match that they promised last week. It had some exciting bursts of energy here and there but was primarily designed to make Rollins look good. Ambrose however stole the show with the ambush and the Authority’s favorite would be going in to SummerSlam as an underdog.

#8 Chris Jericho 7

After getting Erick Rowan and Luke Harper banned from ringside at SummerSlam, Jericho seemed ready to make a big leap with the interview. He did just the same even after Michael Cole was swapped with Bray and came out looking great in the whole segment.

#7 Randy Orton 7

Taking Sheamus out on Raw helped Orton get some target practice before he gets into the ring with Reigns on Sunday. A win at the pay-per-view would help the Viper answer some questions raised by the fans as to how credible his heel run is going.

#6 Bray Wyatt 7

Finally WWE took a refreshing diversion from the same old ambush angle with Bray this week. It was a unique face to face interaction between the two foes as the Eater of the world delivered some of his best lines till date in the company.

#5 Roman Reigns 7.5

It was another strong outing for the Samoan Superstar, as he ran down the team of Ryback and Curtis Axel. The win via disqualification wasn’t something that Reigns would’ve liked to have but it was a credible performance nevertheless.

#4 John Cena 7.5

Being in the same ring with Lesnar helped Cena shine more this week compared to what he did two weeks back. It was a hero’s performance when he came out running to save a handful of legends from getting crushed by the beast and should take this momentum forward to Sunday.

#3 Stephanie McMahon 8

The Raw at Portland was a stage for Stephanie to settle the score and she did it cunningly. Getting the upper hand just days before her big showdown with Brie will make matters more interesting at SummerSlam while pulling Bryan’s name into the mix was a good decision.

#2 Dean Ambrose 8

Ambrose was the surprise package for Rollins this week when he tore out from the gift pack to chase Mr. Money in the bank. It was a memorable ambush from the lunatic fringe who has cemented his place as one of the most unpredictable superstars in the roster.

#1 Brock Lesnar 8

Lesnar was seen building up the intensity well for his match against SummerSlam. It was a typical outing from the beast while snatching the microphone from Heyman’s hand to tease Hogan was a masterful booking. The stage is set now and the Beast looks all set to conquer the Cenation.
