WWE Monday Night Raw : 22 September 2014 - Top 5 Moments of the Week

There is this level of expectations from the WWE fans whenever the company puts together Raw just after a pay-per-view outing. It wasn’t any different on 22nd September 2014 edition of Monday Night Raw.The company however, failed to live up to that bar of expectations set by the fans thanks to the same old story of booking matches without definitive endings.Authority’s involvement has ruined so many matches in recent history and it continued this week as well. Brock Lesnar’s absence was a big plothole in the story as the company provided no explanation for his absence. There were some moments here and there in the show that was worth mentioning so, here is a rundown on the list of best moments from the latest edition of Monday Night Raw.

#5 Cena Ambrose friction

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

After a below par Night of Champions, WWE started their Raw on a high note by putting two of the most dynamic performers in the roster together.

Ambrose started off the segment with a raw and intense promo which was interrupted by a raging Cena who wanted to get his hands on Seth Rollins.

There was a certain amount of tension between the two even though they had a common enemy. The segment showed that the two has a lot of potential in store for the fans.

The Hero going against the Anti- Hero would be something that the fans will love to see but that is a distant dream now that it’s Rollins and the Authority which matters most to this men.

#4 Bunny has his moment

This might look a bit ridiculous in the list but it’s a bunny, and who doesn’t love bunnies? It could be Sami Zayn under the mask which is a bit of ironic considering how much talent he has.

The moments between and the bunny was more than funny and though we wanted to see a one on one match which had more potential, WWE stuck to the safer option of having Rose in the middle.

However, amidst the push that the bunny is getting, Rose is taking a step down. He might be getting wins under his belt but he hasn’t taken a step forward after making his debut in the main roster while he had more success in NXT.

There is still a Slater- bunny match to be played out in this feud and after that WWE should think about putting the costume back where it belongs.

#3 Rusev continues to dominate

Locking horns with Jack Swagger was the first credible feud that Rusev had after getting called up into the main roster.

Once that folded up in favor of the Bulgarian Brute, the creative had to give him something bigger both in size and credibility. This ended up gifting a big push for Mark Henry who was irrelevant till then and with his resume, Henry was bigger than Swagger.

The feud was given some good backing by the writers and it all culminated in a match at NOC where Rusev turned out victorious.

And in the night that followed, WWE gave Rusev another big win which shows that Rusev is lined up for better things than just being a mid-card monster.

#2 Ziggler gets his title back

Ziggler’s rollercoaster run continued this week on Raw when he snatched the Intercontinental championship back from the Awesome one.

The chemistry that Ziggler and Miz had was solid and even after this being a repeated match, it was this chemistry that made the fans sit on the edge of their seats.

Last night, when Ziggler dropped the title to Miz, everyone thought that it would be the ending of this fairytale run, but the win on Raw suggested different.

Ziggler winning the title presented the fans with another ray of hope when they started to think that Ziggler is not getting out of the pit anytime soon.

#1 Ambrose the master of Ambush

Ambrose’s return is one thing that is turning out to be the week’s biggest headline. He simply stole the limelight with his ambush on Night of Champions and it was the same story on Raw.

He had more than one chance to get his hands on Mr. Money in the Bank and every time Ambrose plotted his move to do the same, the fans went wild.

Right now, the fans doesn’t know where Ambrose could be hiding next which is the kind of unpredictability that could push stamping his place in the main event status.

Being oppressed by the Authority every time will only work in favor of Ambrose who has been tagged as the Steve Austin of Network era.
