Would Sting make history? The room for mistakes that WWE has when it comes to Night of Champions is small. The mixed reactions from SummerSlam have added a lot of pressure on the show and since it boasts big names, the show is expected to be a standout. WWE has lined up eight solid matches for the show and now, the success of the show will depend on how WWE executes it when the time comes.Surprises, returns, title changes and many more will come among the expectation list of WWE fans and there are certain booking decisions that WWE should execute at the show which in turn could win over the WWE Universe. And this list is going to take a look at them.
#5 Charlotte gets the gold
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Charlotte came agonizingly close of stopping Nikki Bella from breaking the record of AJ Lee at Monday Night Raw.
Thanks to some heel brilliance, Nikki was able to retain her title on Monday. It was expected as well since WWE wanted someone to replace AJ Lee’s name from top of the list. At Night of Champions, Charlotte will have another crack at the title and this time, Nikki is the underdog.
WWE does not have any more reason to keep Nikki as the champion and the title should change on Sunday night. Charlotte is someone who deserves to win the gold and it would help WWE spark up some friction among Team PCB.
#4 New tag team champions
Dudleys will be competing in their first WWE pay-per-view match after a long time. They will be facing New Day for the Tag Team championship and WWE should let the veterans win the championship. Now, New Day has been excellent as Tag team champions, however, they have already locked horns with almost all the major teams in the division.
Dudleys, on the other hand, are fresh. They have rubbed shoulders with Prime Time Players and New Day and there is still teams like Lucha Dragons, Los Matadores and Wyatt Family, that would have interesting chemistry with Dudleys. Winning the gold would open these doors for Dudleys and the newer teams chasing the legends would be exciting.
#3 Ending the Ziggler and Rusev feud
The Dolph Ziggler – Rusev feud seemed like something special when it started. Fans were interested in seeing how Rusev and Lana would fare without eachother and this was the main attraction of the storyline. However, WWE made a mess out of the angle and now fans treat the segments as toilet breaks.
WWE to mark an end to this storyline at Night of Champions as there is no point in stretching it beyond Sunday. None of the superstars is benefiting from the angle and it would be good if WWE puts Lana back together with Rusev as both superstars still have a lot to achieve together as a pair.
#2 Mystery partner should not be someone obvious
The Mystery partner of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose has been a topic of discussion among the wrestling circles.
A lot of names have been mentioned here and there and no matter who comes out, the fans are going to pop. Although WWE has this advantage, they should not make it obvious. If Randy Orton or Erick Rowan is the mystery partner, it would end up as a waste of opportunity.
On the other hand, if WWE brings up names like Chris Jericho, a masked Kane or Samoa Joe, it would be a big surprise. It would help the company on the longer run and will earn some positive points for Night of Champions.
#1 Sting and Seth Rollins closes the show
There have been some rumors about John Cena vs. Seth Rollins match closing the show on Sunday.
These rumors are not confirmed yet however, as far as we know WWE, this might be a big possibility. If they do the same, it would go down as a big mistake. The act would completely devalue the WWE World heavyweight Championship and would raise complaints about WWE pushing Cena.
Also, Sting’s value will come crashing down. It is not something that he wants after losing to Triple H at WrestleMania. No matter what the result of this match is, it should be the show stopper since it is the best for business decision.
