This week saw a monumental moment unfold for NXT today. The show was for the first time held at a place other than Florida. NXT came to Cleveland for this week's show. And it was as electric as any show that NXT has come out with the past year. It was a great night of wrestling but it was also a night where the audience were paying great attention to a few individuals. There isn't any guarantee that they'll get the same opportunities on the main roster but it is a moment to relish in their presence in an NXT arena. Here are the five promising developments from this week-
#1 The next great feud?
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Finn Balor doesn’t look like someone who will fade away from the main event scene if he loses to Kevin Owens whenever they have a match for the title. His presence is just too charismatic to stay away from the limelight. The way Owens retreated towards the back after Balor leaped onto him towards the end of the show made Balor look like one major threat. This also made their future bout look like one big deal.
Balor is the next main eventer on NXT after Neville and Zayn make their way onto the main roster.
#2 Too Bad Owens is injured
Because Kevin Owens is just plain awesome. He led another brutal performance in this pre-taped show. This time his opponent was Alex Riley, who had built himself some momentum in the past couple of weeks. Even if Owens is a heel, people just want to see him fight. The ‘Kill Owens Kill’ chants just accentuates what a beatdown Riley had on the receiving end.
And before Owens hastily retreated away from Finn Balor, by the end of the night, what was hilarious and great to see was that Owens kicked Riley one more time. That little touch showed enough heel-ness and added enough to the moment.
Too bad Owens is injured. His presence just amplifies the atmosphere.
#3 Sasha Banks is new face of the women\'s division
On NXT, Sasha Banks has become the new face of the Women’s division. Despite being a heel, the fans are loyal towards her. That’s a testament to her superiority in the ring. She makes any match she’s in, spectacular. She faced Alexa Bliss in a match which was good. Bliss has potential and has the space like NXT to get better, This match was basically a showcase of how far ahead banks has reached in her journey in NXT. Her arrival to Raw, whenever that happens, will be a thing to behold. The hardcore fanbase is already paying attention.
#4 How ya Doin\'?
That isn’t just a catchphrase made famous by Joey Tribbiani. This is one of the many catchphrases Enzo Amore uses on a regular basis. And the audience has caught up to it.
Speaking of popularity, Amore and Big Cass are the most popular tag team on NXT and arguably one of the most popular stars on the roster. They make their time on the mic all the more entertaining and something to behold.
They haven’t yet captured the gold in their division but whenever they do, it’ll be awesome.
#5 Breezing ahead
Tyler Breeze may no longer be in the main event but he’s still equally spectacular. One has to think that if he comes to the main roster, his charisma may get treated the way they treat Adam Rose or Fandango. But doing that to another NXT talent will be a gross mistake. He’s just too spectacular. Seeing his popularity and antics on NXT is one of the recurrent best things that the developmental arena offers.
