Over to BrooklynThis night began and ended with the build ups to two of the most anticipated matches in the biggest NXT show in history. The sold out 13,000-strong arena at Brooklyn has two great stories to delve into. But they’ll most probably be graced with the presence of two of the best heels in the business right now. Banks and Owens were masterful in this episode. So much so that they made sense of every missing link, if there was one.The build up to everything else makes NXT’s Takeover feel as big as Summerslam. Here are the 5 points to note from this week-
#1 Talk Owens Talk
Owens is a tremendous promo worker. Well, he’s been belittling the Full Sail Arena for quite some time now. But this week he had an ace up his sleeve. He called all of these fans “The John Cena of wrestling fans”
His promo just got better and better with each second. He emphasized why he feels so pathetic to be at Full Sail and that he’s the only reason that Takeover: Brooklyn is the biggest main event in the history of NXT.
That’s how you work a microphone, folks.
#2 Blissful Privilege
Alexa Bliss is the biggest factor to consider the tag team championship scene interesting. The Vaudevillains are fascinating as well but Bliss’ heel work has been tremendous, even if it is her just slapping the Vaudevillains once nonchalantly and then indignantly.
The announcers will emphasize it time and again that she has no business doing that. She’s not a competitor in this match. That makes her presence even more jeer- inducing.
Also, people chanting for Blue Pants makes for an interesting prospect.
#3 The Lone Wolf
Baron Corbin hasn’t been the brightest star in NXT but all of that seems to changing with the escalation of his feud against Samoa Joe. Last week, Joe showcased why he’s such a big deal. This week he was on the receiving end of the attack. Corbin’s aggression was a big improvement in making any developments about his character. The management may be very well high on this talent but this was the first moment in weeks where he did something that was interesting.
#4 The Perfect Babyface Contender
There is also a reason why Bayley’s got one of the most passionate fans ever. She plays the typical babyface role perfectly. She’s got that old school charm going on with her colorful outfit. She’s actually a bundle of joy who has the cutest fans in the world.
Just when you thought she’s going to be a bigger person and not let Banks’ statements get to her, she charged towards the champion and started a fight.
We know it, Bayley knows it and even Banks knows it- at Brooklyn, Bayley’s walking out as the champ.
#5 The Perfect Heel Champion
There is a reason why Banks gets the respect out of every arena that she walks into. She seamlessly turned the very rushed storyline between her and Bayley into something that you should invest your attention into. When Bayley went all obvious about ending the contract signing with a fight, Banks insolently told her that while Lynch and Charlotte were threats, Bayley is not. She went onto belittle Bayley further and essentially walking away after stamping her signature on the contract.
But that wasn’t the end of it
