Finn Balor and Samoa Joe Vs Enzo Amore and Big CassIt wasn’t the best episode NXT has had to offer, it was actually a pretty mediocre episode. What seemed to be a pretty interesting tag match between Finn Balor- Samoa Joe and Enzo Amore - Big Cass, turned out to be more of a whimper rather than a bang. The rest of the show was pretty tame as well. This may not be the best thing heading over to Takeover: Respect in a week’s time. Three tag matches plus two women's matches and a singles match between Breeze and Crews is what Takeover: Respect looks like right now. Here are the 5 points to note from this weeks episode of NXT-
#1 Wasted opportunity
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
This episode of NXT began with Finn Balor and Samoa Joe facing off against Enzo Amore and Big Cass. Right of the bat, this should have been a homerun. The popularity of all four competitors involved is overwhelming but the action rarely, if ever in the short amount of time given to it, lived up to the expectations. Balor and Joe won after Amore abd Cass were able to control a substantial amount of the match.
Yet, this wasnt as memorable as it should have been.
#2 New faces
Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are the new faces in the Womens Division at NXT. After being in singles matches in prior weeks, they teamed up tonight to take on the heel tag team of Dana Brooke and Emma.
Kay and Royce were defeated but because this is NXT, there will come a time when theyll get to showcase their skills more and make their presence felt.
But this night was all about making Dana Brooke look strong
#3 Next week at Takeover
So, this brings us to talking about the hugely anticipated Takeover: Respect. One of the reasons why its arrival is eagerly awaited is because of the main event match between Bayley and Sasha Banks.
Another reason to now wait for it is the debut of Asuka. She’ll be facing Dana Brooke on the latest edition of Takeover. That explains why Dana Brooke was booked to look so strong in her tag team match.
#4 Crews Moves on
Apollo Crews had another match at NXT, which he obviously won. He isn’t squashing jobbers we don’t have any clue about. His wins are well- earned and that’s a major thing giving him credibility, moving forward.
This Takeover, he’ll be facing Tyler Breeze and while all of us know that that will be another victory for Crews, it’ll be interesting to see how he gets there since Breeze is a Full Sail star.
#5 Not a Breezy Main Event
This may have been the least special of all NXT main events ever. Breeze featured in it which was a big deal, since the star hasn’t been in that position for some time now. While Crews moved ahead looking strong, it was the opposite for Breeze who will face the rookie at Takeover: Respect.
This was a confusing performance from both superstars and nobody will be blamed for not knowing what was going on. Breeze won the match but that didn’t necessarily make him look strong.
